Meanwhile, Amalia finds herself feeling more lost than ever as graduation approaches and her classmates begin making plans for next year. Winter My Review

You’ll Find Me in ManhattanThe final book in the ‘What Happens to Men’ series continues the college adventures of Amalia and Olivia. It’s a while since I read book 2 but once I reacquainted with the setting and characters, I didn’t stop reading until I’d finished.
Even though it is Olivia who is planning her wedding to Alex, Amalia’s complex life dominates this story. Finally she gets what she has always wanted, only to find it’s not what she hoped it would be. A grumpy professor, an emotionally detached boyfriend and unwanted therapy all figure in Amalia’s ‘Masters’ year, she wonders if she can survive? Gradually she discovers who she really is and finds that she likes her, which makes for plenty of laughs, a few tears and a hopeful future.
This is a story of few characters but Amalia and Olivia are vibrant and realistic and the writing style is easy reading. This is a great ending to a fabulous series, definitely worth reading whatever your age.
I received a copy of this book from Harper Impulse via NetGalley in return for an honest review.

My Review -1

We've Always Got New York ‘We’ve Always Got New York’ is an excellent second book in the ‘What Happens to Men?’ series. All the character building and relationships developed in the first book, ‘What Happens to Men When They Move to Manhattan.’ makes this story so much easier to get into. Amalia and Olivia’s tell the story and many of the characters from the first book make welcome return appearances.
Book one ended with Amalia’s departure and book two begins with her return. She expects everything to be the same but finds her friends have moved on and not always in ways she likes. This story has realistic characters and scenarios, plus an in-depth knowledge of New York and its young adults, which make ordinary life events interesting and worth reading.
The story focuses on Amalia and Olivia whose love lives are complex and by the end of this story at opposite ends of the emotional spectrum. Cassandra seems to have undergone a personality change and is mysterious by her absence from Amalia’s life. Maybe book three will provide the answers? The men are central to the story but find they are dealing with women who are no longer innocent but determined to have life and love on their own terms, which is a pleasing development from book one.
This story’s characters pull you in and make you want to know what happens next.
