Release Day Blitz: Best Fake Day Tracey Rogers

BestFakeDay_MediumTracey Rogers’ latest release ‘Best Fake Day’ is another 5* read.

I loved ‘Daring to Wish’ which I gave a 5* review and Best Fake Day is another fabulous unique story.

Here’s a little about ‘Best Fake Day’

Faking it never felt so good.
Wedding photographer and romance lover Izzy Latham dreams of finding her own happily ever after. When her former teenage crush arrives at her doorstep, looking sexier than ever, and asks to marry her, it should be her dream come true, right? Wrong. It turns out he doesn’t want to actually marry her—he only wants to pretend to marry her.
Marriage hater Jack Carter will do anything to close his latest business deal, including finding a wife. The only person who can help him is his childhood friend, Izzy. Except Izzy isn’t a little girl anymore. She’s definitely all woman, and there’s an attraction between them that’s hard to ignore.
Jack has to convince Izzy to fake it, but the problem is that she hates to lie. However, she can’t deny her feelings for him either. So when Jack makes her an offer she can’t refuse, she reluctantly agrees to help him out.
Faking it is the easy part. But what happens when fake starts to feel so real?
Content Warning: contains sensual sex and occasional strong language

About Tracey Rogers:
A devourer of books from an early age, I spent much of my childhood stepping into wardrobes, searching for that magical snowy world where conversing with animals would be expected. When I wasn’t searching for those worlds, I wrote about them instead. My first step into the world of romance was when I stole sneak peeks into my nana’s books. I’m still in that world and refuse to leave.
I live in Staffordshire, UK, with my husband and three wonderful children. An avid reader and writer of romance, I strongly believe that words make the world go around.

Interview with Eve Ward from ‘Daring to Wish’ Tracey Rogers

Daring to Wish_MediumI have Eve Ward the  feisty heroine of ‘Daring to Wish’ on First Steps today.

Here the blurb for ‘Daring to Wish’

What happens when you dare to wish?

In an effort to regain her independence and break out of her shell, shy Eve Ward writes a daring wish list of all the things she wants to do before her thirtieth birthday. It’s a good thing the list is for her eyes only, because some of the items are pretty risqué.

Adrenaline junkie Lucas Riley becomes Eve’s “victim” in a kiss-a-stranger dare, and she thinks he’s perfect for her one-night-with-a-stranger wish.

With Eve, Lucas thinks he’s found the distraction he needs before he has to say goodbye to his bad boy image. When he finds Eve’s sexy wish list, he can’t keep himself from giving into temptation and sneaking a peek, and wish number eight is impossible for him to resist. Being good can wait.

Eve is thrilled when, out of the blue, Lucas offers to take her skydiving. Her sexy stranger has helped her tick so many wishes off her secret list. Her confidence has grown and now she’s having fun both in and out of the bedroom. It seems too good to be true…is it? She can’t shake the niggling suspicion that something’s not quite right.

Content Warning: contains dizzying heights and sensual sex

Genre(s): Contemporary Romance

Hi Eve thanks for visiting my blog.

Thanks for inviting me Jane. I hope this won’t be too revealing. 🙂

Would you describe yourself as an adventurous person?

If by adventurous you mean wearing skyscraper heels then yes…well maybe a little bit.

What is the craziest thing you’ve ever done?

Except for coming out dressed like a devil? I did have purple hair once. And between me and you I did write this daring wish list recently.

Describe your ideal man.

I would have said dark and slim, but I’ve just spotted this guy at the bar. Can you see him, the tall muscular one with blond hair? Just look at those shoulders! But really someone I can trust would be nice.

Do believe in love at first sight?

I do but I’m still waiting…

Do you believe in ‘Happy Ever After’?

I used to, but now I’m aiming for the happy right now.

Career or family which is your top priority?

A career. I have more chance of getting a new job than I do of having a family *sigh*.

Who’s your favourite fairytale heroine?

Belle from Beauty and the Beast. She’s brave and takes no-nonsense from that Beast no matter how awful he is to her.

Where in the world would you most like to live?

I’ve never travelled but I really want to visit Switzerland.

Are you a cat or dog person?

If I ever have a family I’ll have both.

What’s your favourite sport?

Well I did put skydiving on my list, so who knows…Oops time to go. Great chatting with you Jane. I’ve just drawn the short straw for the next dare. I’ve got to kiss a stranger. Now who do I choose?

They were great answers Eve. I guess if readers want to know more about you they should check out ‘Daring to Wish‘.
Here’s an excerpt:

   Daring to Wish_Medium

“Wait.”

Eve froze mid-turn, halted by his husky command and the tingle radiating from his hand lightly grasping her wrist. She met his gaze and realized how wrong she’d been. He was a million miles away from being uncomplicated. The startling blue of his eyes revealed depths Eve could only imagine drowning in.

“Did you say…nice?” He leaned closer. “I would say that was a lot better than nice. I’m sure if we tried again we could manage spectacular. Don’t you agree?” he drawled.

Maybe nice had been the wrong word to choose Eve relented as she noted his husky tone. It was infinitely better than nice. Try amazing! Her breath hitched as she thought of his kiss again. Knowing he enjoyed it too sent a surge of pleasure through her that settled deep within her belly. Obviously she could do some things right.

If she intended to fulfill her wishes she was going to have to find some confidence from somewhere—and fast! At the moment her confidence seemed to be firmly in the area of her knickers.

Running and hiding now seemed out of the question. Maybe confidence practice would be the lesser of two evils? She paused before turning to face Mr. Hotness for confidence lesson one.

“Hmm…” She pretended to consider. “Maybe you’re right. However, as this was a dare I’m afraid it was a one time opportunity,” she added with mock apology. “So I guess we’ll never know.”

“You kissed me for a dare?” His brow arched.

Eve nodded. “Uh-huh. My dare was to kiss a stranger.”

“A dare, huh? I feel so…so violated.” He clutched his free hand to his chest in feigned hurt, although his eyes brimmed with humor and a smile tugged at the corner of his delicious mouth.

“Don’t be offended. I did actually choose you,” she blurted before forgetting her cool, calm, and confident aim.

“So you really thought you could violate me then run?”

“That was my plan, yes,” she said with a confidence she didn’t quite feel, especially as she was distracted by the thumb lightly stroking her wrist.

“And I didn’t even try to play hard to get. Guess you got lucky.”

“Or maybe you did,” she countered without thought, mortified as a blush warmed her cheeks at his responding grin.

He grinned, releasing her hand. “Tell me. Do you like to be dared?”

Her eyes widened at the loaded question. “I…I find a challenge hard to resist.”

“Damn good thing I’m a challenge.”

Interview with Debut Author: Tracey Rogers

This is a first for me and my blog First Steps; an author interview.

I’m thrilled my friend and debut author Tracey Rogers agreed to this interview.TraceyRogerspic

Daring to Wish_Medium  I gave Tracey’s first book ‘Daring to Wish’ released last week, a 5* review.

Hi Tracey welcome to First Steps.

Thank you so much for having me on your blog today! So pleased to be sharing ‘Daring to Wish’ with you.

What influenced your career choice as a writer?

I never saw it as a career choice as such, more of a sanity saver. I’d had to quit work and studies because of health problems and I hated doing nothing. I had lots of thinking time so to be productive I saw it as an opportunity to explore my love of writing all over again.

What would you like your potential readers to know about Tracey Rogers?

Ooh is this where I pretend to live in a castle? Well my…ahem… ‘castle’ is in Staffordshire UK where I live with my husband and children. I love writing and I hope my words take readers on a journey.

What inspired you to write your debut novel ‘Daring to Wish’?

The inspiration really was one of those ‘what if’ moments. When I thought how life could have been so different by the smallest decision you make. So then came the idea of someone who has a blank canvas of a life and can make changes because they have nothing to lose. So then I had my heroine and an idea of how she could have some fun.

Where do you create your wonderful characters and stories?

Although I have a yearning for a writing tree house, I write at home on my comfy sofa.

What is your favourite time of day to write?

I write mostly in the mornings during school hours, but I am very much a night owl. I get most of my inspiration just before bedtime.

Tell us a little about ‘Daring to Wish’.

Daring to Wish is about a ‘before I’m thirty’ wish list penned by shy Eve Ward that soon becomes a daring for her eyes only list. She’s determined to make some much-needed changes in her life and when she meets a sexy stranger, perfect for one of those wishes, she starts to earn some much-needed ticks. But it seems too good to be true…Is it?

As a new author have you any tips for other new writers?

Keep reading and be inspired by other authors. It’s a wonderful motivator. And if you are undecided about sending a query or a sub, imagine the worst thing that could ever happen to you in your life and then click send. The worst thing won’t happen. Rejections sting, but they won’t break you. Keep looking for the right home and put into practise any valuable feedback you have. Keep reading, keep writing and have fun doing it.

Have you written any other books being released soon?

Yes! Best Fake Day releases in December.

5* Review of ‘Daring to Wish’ Tracey Rogers

Daring to Wish

‘Daring to Wish’ is a page turner you don’t want to end.

The intricately woven story is an easy read. Full of humour and soul-searching amid sizzling romance it has a notable uniqueness.

Eve and Lucas are beautifully crafted characters. So real I felt I knew them the moment we were introduced.

Eve proves ordinary is extraordinary; intelligent, amusing, emotionally fragile, courageous yet lacking in self-esteem. She is a complex fascinating character I instantly empathised with.

Lucas is superficially an alpha male, undeniably hot but with a considerate, intuitive nature he is likeable and attractive as a person.

The steamy love scenes are well written and make you long to be Eve. The romantic encounters are tinged with memorable poignancy. The numerous plot twists keep the reader guessing until the very end whether the couple will dare to wish for what they truly desire.

The story has a great ending.

I recommend ‘Daring to Wish’ to all readers of romance. This story will stay with you when the others have faded away.
