The Revenge Masquerade, the second in ‘The Dragon Legacy series, is due for release December 2014 from Crimson Frost Books. This adventure features Jasmine and Zane. – a dangerous mystery in romantic Venice Italy.
‘At last her suitcase appeared. She reclaimed it and joined the line of people in the main concourse of Verona airport. Amid the noisy crowds, she looked around for her uncle’s familiar face. Jostled from behind she pitched forward. Jasmine closed her eyes as immediate impact with the hard concourse floor seemed imminent. Instead she was hauled against an unfamiliar muscular chest less painful but still alarming. “Let’s get you out of here Cara.” Jasmine leaned back in her rescuer’s steely embrace. Compared to her the man was a giant. He stood way over six feet and her neck ached with the strain of looking up at him. Her rescuer’s attractive face radiated power and ruthlessness. He smiled briefly and started to forge a path through the crowds with a reluctant Jasmine in tow. Digging her heels in and refusing to move crossed her mind but the momentum, by which he propelled her through the crowd proved unstoppable.’

My wonderful writing pal Shehanne Moore – Smexy Historical Romance invited me to take part in the Meet My Character Blog Tour.
Last week she introduced the courtesan half of her next novel
I’m introducing my latest hero Zane the wolf shifter who many of you may remember from The Dragon Legacy.
Zane and his witch Jasmine made such an impact on me and my readers that I wrote their story as the second book in The Dragon Legacy Series even though neither of them are dragons. 🙂
I enjoyed putting together my Pinterest board for the Revenge Masquerade, particularly searching for visual inspiration for Zane both the man and the wolf.
Zane met Lukas nearly a thousand years ago when the dragon saved him from demons who slayed his family…
‘The angry cries of desperation from his allies, the wolf- shifters, alerted him. He swooped and scorched the demons with his fiery breath. Too late. All the wolf-shifters lay dead, except for Zane. He still fought, covered in blood and gore, with tears of hate and grief on his face. He didn’t notice Lukas at first, fighting for his life with increased desperation as he watched his family die around him. The
attack was so quick; the wolves couldn’t shift in time. Zane killed the last demon as Lukas landed.’
Fire met Ice when Jasmine saw Zane
‘A flash of silver hair caught her attention as Jasmine carried a tray of clean glasses out of the conservatory. Zane, she ignored the unexpected hypnotic pull. She wouldn’t turn round for another man in pursuit of her power.
“Hi, shall I walk you into dinner?” Zane’s deep voice forced her acknowledgement of him, so Jasmine smiled. “Thanks, but,” she indicated her outfit, glad of her watertight excuse, “as you can see I’m the hired help. I’ll be serving at the table rather than sitting at it.” ‘
‘Zane ushered her into the alcove, dominated by a beautiful lemon tree. Her stiff shoulders betrayed her annoyance, but her body relaxed as his warmth enveloped her. A small victory since Jasmine let his alpha behavior pass without comment. “You need to stay away from Xavier. He knows who you are. He wants your power.” Jasmine’s gaze clouded. “I don’t understand. What do you mean, who I am?” He didn’t have time for games. “He knows you’re a witch!” ‘
Zane is a heartbreaker…
‘He smiled at the thought of the fiery haired witch saving herself for him. Strong willed, powerful and a future guardian witch, she didn’t need a man to complete her life. Fortunately he was more than a man.”I have to go Jasmine.”
“You’re leaving now?” Shock and disbelief filled her emerald gaze hastily masked. “Oh, I see. You meant to say goodbye and leave before and instead we… This was a mistake then.” She looked away but not quickly enough for him to miss the sheen of tears which marred her sparkling green eyed gaze.’
And a Fighter…
‘Zane launched himself at Xavier
and pinned him against the jagged rock. He threw his head back and plunged in for the kill.’

I would like to invite:
To share one of their fabulous characters with us. 🙂
Here’s a snippet from my upcoming release The Revenge Masquerade which is due for release in December 2014. The second book in The Dragon Legacy series, this is Jasmine and Zane’s story set in romantic Venice and the Italian Lakes.
‘The shrieking noise quieted and the unmistakable creek of the heavy door alerted him of someone’s approach. His hackles rose and then flattened in recognition of the scent; a mixture of flowers and spice unique to Jasmine. He resisted the urge to shift into his human form. As a wolf their encounter would remain platonic. His mind and heart warred over the morality of his desires. He couldn’t stay. His mission necessitated he leave immediately. Was it fair to take Jasmine’s heart and leave her alone with needs mere memories wouldn’t satisfy? The wolf ignored his human conscience. Time was short and the instinctive need to brand the flame-haired witch with his mark too strong. He shifted back into his human form.
Zane leant against the jagged stone wall. His naked body barely registered the rough-hewn rock which imprinted his skin. His abrupt shift into human form didn’t include clothes. The cool night air soothed his fevered body as Jasmine appeared. A faint blush stained her pale skin everywhere his gaze rested.’

The Dragon Legacy is the first in a series of fantasy/paranormal romance books about supernatural dragons who protect the natural balance of the world. We meet Lukas Draco, the dragon lord in the first book. The leader of the ancient order of dragons Lukas’ mission is to find and protect the last dragon egg from evil in the form of the demon, Xavier. At a quintessentially English Murder Mystery weekend Lukas meets shy, naive Fleur Curwen. The attraction between them is instant and powerful and makes him question his way of life.
‘When emotionally fragile Fleur Curwen decides she wants excitement in her boring life she signs up for a Murder Mystery Weekend in the wilds of the English Lake District. She enters a paranormal world where danger and death are common occurrences.’
‘Demon slayer Lukas Draco is a loner. He lives by two simple rules: No emotional entanglements and duty must remain his first priority. His beliefs are challenged when he’s inexplicably drawn to Fleur, a human woman with an unusual psychic aura. Sparks of sexual attraction ignite threatening both his search for the dragon’s egg he buried a thousand years ago and Fleur’s life. Under the cover of a murder mystery weekend an apocalyptic hunt begins’
‘Xavier Serpente clenched his manicured nails into his expensive Italian silk trousers, amazed Jasmine dare leave him in mid-conversation. She didn’t realize his importance. He mentally ticked off his attributes. Successful Milanese financier and good looks guaranteed him the undivided attention of most beautiful women. He also possessed the fast car, city penthouse, and lakeside retreat associated with his ilk. The threat of danger, which simmered under the surface of his urbane respectability, was his greatest attraction. All women acquiesced when they fell under the spell of his midnight black gaze. Except Jasmine; she intrigued him. Her potent aura represented a source of usable power. Fleur’s importance to her troubled him. Xavier let his gaze roam over the slender blonde-haired woman across the room. The innocent, vulnerable aura she projected didn’t fascinate his jaded palate.’
Jasmine and Zane who we first meet in book 1 of The Dragon Legacy have their adventure in book 2 The Revenge Masquerade which will be available December 2014 /January 2015.

If you have been following my blog posts this week you will know I visited Northumberland. Now that I am back home again I want to share some thoughts and photographs of the lovely holiday cottage which was the base for our Northumberland holiday. Intended purely for couples and their dogs it was small but well designed with everything we needed for our stay.
Even though this cottage is close to the A1 and easy to get to, it is so quiet and secluded. The perfect place to get away from it all with a ring side seat of all the wildlife. There were hares, rabbits, pheasants and at night time, bats easily seen from the garden and lots of wild song birds. We even had a visit from an Arctic Tern looking for breakfast.
I would love to wake up to this view every morning.
My only regret was I couldn’t try our the log burner but alas it was just too warm. 🙂
After a wonderful holiday its time to leave ‘the good life’ behind (that comment will be lost on anyone not old enough to remember the 70s sitcom)
Back home again I’m looking forward to finishing my third book The Dangerous Gift.
Look out for more excerpts, news on The Revenge Masquerade and lots of book reviews.
Have a lovely weekend.
