5* Review Crash & Burn Susan Arden

Crash and Burn is #2 in the Rule Breaker series. I reviewed #1 Rock Into Me  here.

Here’s what you can expect:

‘She rocks his world…he’ll need distance from her to think straight.
Waking up after an off-the-charts night with Alana, Jonathan has minutes to memorize every inch of her body, erotic sensuality, and ability to torment him before he must let her go when their business contract begins and his record company is in charge of her band and her future.

He sets her body on fire…leaving her questioning everything she thought she knew.
Alana is fiercely loyal to Orion. But when fame comes knocking on her door alone, her band refuses to stand in her way. As the pressure builds to keep the band together, the only way out may mean cutting free from a man who complicates her life with his ability to melt her body, heart and soul. Jon and Alana are blinded by their hotter-than-hell passions until they’re spiraling out-of-control and there’s nothing left to do but CRASH & BURN.

EROTICA – Scorching from the start. Jon & Alana’s attraction is the makings of a chemical combustion that gets hotter each time they’re together.’

My Review:
Crash & Burn (Rule Breaker, #2)‘Crash & Burn’ delivers and enhances the passion, emotional torment and glitzy, hard-edged rock atmosphere which I so enjoyed in the first book in the series ‘Rock into Me’ a definite must read.

Alana is devastated both physically and emotionally. She burns for Jon but shies away because he has the means to destroy her body and soul. Jon is left wondering if he can give up Alana his latest rock star protégée after a night of erotic and disturbingly emotional loving. Attempts to establish their fledgling business relationship lead to arguments, longing and inevitable sex as each encounter feeds their uncontrollable addiction.

This is a book best suited to mature adults as the sexual scenes are numerous and explicit. That said they demonstrate the growing emotional connection between Alana and Jon far better than hot looks and constant forays into the characters’ psyche would do.

Alana and Orion’s experience of Music city is interesting. Crash & Burn features interesting cameos of other group members and Jon’s staff that enrich the plot.

My advice is to read ‘Rock Into Me’ first and enjoy Alana and Jon’s electric meeting to fully appreciate the hot erotic romance Crash & Burn delivers.

5* Review of ‘Rock Into Me’ Susan Arden

I couldn’t put this down until I finished it.

Singing at a hard-won gig Alana makes eye contact with JP a tough, arrogant music man. From his expression he doesn’t seem to like her singing and the scene is set for a scorching encounter after the show.

From the first page you are absorbed into the gig’s atmosphere and feel Alana’s frustration at JP’s derogatory opinion of her. The setting is glitzy but hard-edged and grounded in reality.

A real page turner. This tempting novella leaves the reader with a ‘Happy For Now’ ending and definitely wanting more of Alana,JP and music city.

The story focuses on Alana and JP’s electrifying connection and its erotic outcome but the book  delivers more than this. The possible eventual outcomes of Alana and JP’s story are many. This book is definitely the start of a very special series.
