My Review

The Russian's Ultimatum (Mills & Boon Modern)The Russian’s Ultimatum is a dark, sexy but definitely romantic story that doesn’t disappoint. Dangerous, vibrant Pascha has dark secrets and a soft heart. Emily is a successful designer but despite her talents she seems determined to be all things to all men; the perfect daughter/sister / employee. This is a story of family, secrets and wild passion, which unfolds in an idyllic tropical setting.
Emily’s love of her father forces her to go against her principles and break into Pascha’s office. She needs vital documents from his laptop to clear her father’s name. Pascha catches her. Fortunately Emily discovers something that gives her leverage. Pascha is furious with Emily but not just because she has tried to steal from him. His physical reaction to her is both unexpected and unwelcome and he is determined to make her pay.
Pascha’s ultimatum means Emily must spend the week on his tropical island to prevent disclosure of his latest business venture. The perfect solution until Mother Nature forces Emily and Pascha to remain in far closer proximity than either wants. Passion and secrets flow between them but what happens when the storm is over?

I read the book in a day to find out. The Russian’s Ultimatum is a perfect winter escape.

My Review

The Sicilian's Unexpected Duty (Mills & Boon Modern) (The Irresistible Sicilians - Book 2)Pepe steals Cara’s phone to help his elder brother Luca, track down his runaway wife Grace. What Pepe doesn’t realise is how his careless sortie into Cara’s life will have life changing consequences for both of them.

Pepe, although outwardly successful and living the dolce vita, hides a maelstrom of self-doubt and anger. He vents his fury on the unsuspecting Cara and confirms her worst fears. She hates him at this point and he is not the most endearing of heroes, in my eyes either. However it’s the little things that betray his compassionate nature. Coupled with his passionate addiction to Cara, he is a hero worth saving. Cara is a gentle person but not weak, as Pepe finds to his cost. Truly courageous Cara is determined not to repeat her parents’ mistakes.
Despite Pepe’s wealth the story is realistically grounded and enhanced with a charmingly, authentic setting. You experience the couple’s knife edge emotions, which continue in intensity right to the poignant end.
Thank goodness for epilogues. After tragedy and misunderstanding Cara and Pepe finally find their happy ever after.

My Review

What a Sicilian Husband Wants (Mills & Boon Modern) (The Irresistible Sicilians - Book 1)The first chapter of ‘What a Sicilian Husband Wants’ is full of suspense and more than a little menace. Not the usual start for a glamorous romance but it intrigued me. Grace is afraid of her own shadow and is reluctant to help the unexpected caller at her door. Her compassionate nature triumphs over her fear but by letting down her guard, she unwittingly lets her past crash into her present existence.

Luca Grace’s estranged husband tracks her down. His presence at their explosive reunion is almost that of a Gothic hero, especially when he discovers Grace’s hidden treasure. Sicily is a picturesque setting but it’s easy to see why free spirited Grace ran away from her beautiful prison.

The flashbacks are insightful and the chemistry between Grace and Luca easy to imagine. Luca, though flawed has some wonderful qualities. Grace is a strong woman, who escapes from the man she loves because his world is sucking the life out of her. Can these two be together when it seems everything but their physical attraction pulls them apart? The ending assures us of happy ever after and is worth the angst.

I am looking forward to meeting the next irresistible Sicilian.
