Romance

Is her royal baby his redemption?

After being swept up in Prince Vincenzo’s revenge plans, Eloise is carrying his surprise heir. And the man who vowed never to marry is claiming her – as his royal Christmas bride

My Thoughts…

Prince Vincenzo is determined to rescue his country from his father’s excesses and vows to end the monarchy by refusing to marry and father an heir. Avenging his mother, he enlists the help of Eloise, the daughter of his father’s mistress. Eloise is a positive, strong character who has moved on from her destructive past. She has always loved Vincenzo despite his reputation and agrees to help him.

There is an intense passion between Eloise and Vincenzo despite her innocence. The emotional connection between the couple deepens as they realise they have misjudged each other. The story has many festive touches and ends happily after much angst. Believable characters and an appealing fairytale quality make this a lovely holiday read.

Can she resist his snowbound seduction?

After a rocky first impression, innocent Meredith’s got a lot to prove to her new billionaire boss Giovanni! He’s trusting her to make his opulent train’s maiden voyage a success. Trusting herself around him? That’s another challenge entirely…

I received a copy of this book from Mills and Boon via NetGalley in return for an honest review.

My Thoughts…

This is a festive story set in Switzerland, Paris and across the Alps. Part of the story takes place on a luxury train, and this well-described setting makes this a vivid read. Merry is innocent and career-driven, running away from her dysfunctional family. Giovanni is a self-made billionaire, Merry’s temporary boss who hates Christmas because of a personal tragedy. There are elements of humour and poignant moments which draw the reader’s empathy.

The chemistry between the two is well-written with sparkly romance. Giovanni has old fashioned manners and speech that fit perfectly with the festive old-world setting. There is angst, reconciliation, self-realisation and a lovely romantic conclusion.

Redeemed by His New York Cinderella Jadesola James 4*#Review @jadesolajames @MillsandBoon @HarlequinBooks #MillsandBoonInsiders #Romance

She can save him – if he’ll let her…

Kitty will do anything for the foundation inspired by her tumultuous childhood. Even agree to a fake relationship to help Laurence, the impossibly guarded man from her past, land his next deal. Only their chemistry is anything but make-believe!

Amazon UK

I received a copy of this book from Mills and Boon via NetGalley in return for an honest review.

My Thoughts…

I enjoyed this Cinderella-style romance. The protagonists both had difficult and emotionally bereft childhoods. Kitty is self-reliant. She created a charitable foundation to help young people forgotten by the welfare system to realise their potential. Laurence is rich but emotionally distant.

Both flawed characters have unlikeable traits, but they have a powerful chemistry that catalyses a sensual romance. It’s easy reading, and the main characters develop as individuals and deserve their happy ending.

My Thoughts…

A passionate encounter on a Northumberland island brings Frankie and Arlo together. This is an atmospheric and emotional romance with a contemporary edge. There are believable characters, sexy encounters and a growing emotional connection between the couple. The internal conflicts are relatable, and the romance is hot. This is the perfect romantic escape for those who like sensual romance.

My Thoughts…

A lot is going on in this story. It’s full of emotion, mystery and passionate romance between a couple who have self-esteem issues and unanswered questions in their past. It is glamorous, but beneath the glitz are two people who long for a partner who values them.

Their first meeting leads to unexpected passion, which draws them together. There’s a mystery to solve and many conflicts before they can achieve the happiness they deserve. The two main protagonists are likeable, and the plot has interesting twists to keep the reader engaged.

Stolen in Her Wedding Gown Amanda Cinelli 4*#Review @AcinelliAuthor @MillsandBoon @HarlequinBooks #MillsandBoonInsiders #MillsandBoonModern #HarlequinPresents #BookReview #Romance #Preorder #StoleninHerWeddingGown

When the something borrowed…
Is the bride!

About to walk down the aisle of her Manhattan wedding, determined Priya realises it’s impossible. After the news Greek playboy Eros has just shared about her convenient groom, she can’t go through with it. To save her father’s business she flees in her white dress…and weds Eros instead!

To beat his brother to the family inheritance, Eros must stay married for one year. Stealing Priya as his wife was the first step. Then, he discovers her deepest secrets – and a burning mutual desire. What started as convenient suddenly got very complicated…

Amazon UK

I received a copy of this book from Mills and Boon via NetGalley in return for an honest review.

My Thoughts…

Eros is aptly named with a playboy reputation that lives up to his name. His meeting with his mother after the death of his estranged father gives the reader all the necessary clues to understand his commitment issues and need for Greek-style revenge. Priya is an heiress who refused to conform to the marriage of convenience expected of her. Succeeding on her own is important to her, so why is marrying someone she doesn’t love. Eros’ revenge and Priya marriage of convenience collide on her wedding day with life-changing results for them both.

Their dramatic meeting paves the way for sizzling chemistry that is slow to ignite due to Priya’s innocence and Eros’ unwillingness to push against her boundaries. They begin to form an emotional attachment before the physical attraction takes over, and whilst this a little unexpected in this romance category, it does make the story romantic.

This is an emotional love story with glamorous protagonists who are vulnerable under their outward facades.

Amazon UK

I received a copy of this book from Mills and Boon via NetGalley in return for an honest review.

My Thoughts…

A sizzling romance, set on a private island, a fast-paced, physical attraction, catalyses gradual emotional commitment.

This story is full of introspection and internal conflict. Merle’s teenage years were lonely and starved of affection. Ash has regrets from his youth that he can’t let go. The romance is passionate and the dialogue vibrant. Merle’s character development is good. Ash’s self-realisation is not as significant, but he gets there in the end.

The conclusion is romantic and satisfying.

Amazon UK

I received a copy of this book from Mills and Boon via NetGalley in return for an honest review.

My Thoughts…

This passionate romantic story has echoes Greek tragedy. Jace is driven to revenge his father’s death after Eleanor’s grandfather’s betrayal. Eleanor discovers Jace’s plans and runs, but one year on, her hotel is on the brink of bankruptcy, and Jace is the only way out.

There is undeniable chemistry between innocent Eleanor and Jace, which she thought was love. As they get to know each other, their growing emotional commitment deepens into love. Eleanor is a strong woman who values family and loyalty, something she shares with Jace. She understands his motives, and when he shares his past, she forgives him. Jace is a sexy but troubled man driven by revenge. His attraction and admiration of Eleanor let him learn to trust and realise he deserves to be happy.

This is a lovely sensual romance with likeable characters.

I received a copy of this book from Mills and Boon via NetGalley in return for an honest review.

My Thoughts…

There’s fantastic chemistry between Mia and Max from their first encounter, but Max is all about work, and Mia isn’t anxious to risk her heart again. Hawaii weaves its magic, the elements and proximity conspire to make sensual encounters inevitable.

This is a conflicted romance Max and Mia have a professional relationship, should they compromise it? Both have to change their outlook on life but are they ready to change enough for a happy ending?

This is a great start to the Secrets of the Stowe family series. It romantic and sensual and has a lovely happy end.

Winter My Review

Claiming the Royal Innocent (Kingdoms & Crowns #2)The second in the ‘Kingdoms and Crowns series, this is Aleksandra’s story. The world building in this modern day fairytale is intricate and realistic. It’s easy to imagine the royal ball, which Aleksandra gatecrashes to find out the truth about her family. Aristos is arrogant, brooding and determined to find out why Aleksandra is prepared to lie to gain entrance to the glamorous party.
Thrown together by the threat of war and royal decree Aristos is duty bound to protect Aleksandra, or risk losing a lucrative business deal. Proximity and chemistry build the sexual tension between the naive princess and the cynical, reluctant bodyguard perfectly. The inevitable flash points between them are steamy and emotional; giving this sweet, forbidden romance a delicious twist. Aleksandra and Aristos avoid becoming stereotypical by their verbal interaction. The dialogue is a clever balance of angst and wit, and moves the story along nicely, whilst illustrating their complex and developing emotional journeys.
This story is pure escapism for lovers of modern fairytale romance, with enough realism to make it work. It reads well as a standalone but I’m definitely going to read the first book in the series and look forward to book three, the final chapter of the Akathinian Royals.
