Event planner Sage Wilde has lots of lists and no time for a relationship…

Precise to a fault, Sage plans everything—meetings, meals, and sex. But when she learns her youngest sister can’t carry a child, she steps up and commits to the role of a surrogate mother. It’s not out of sentiment, because Sage doesn’t do love or touchy-feely, but out of practicality. She doesn’t plan on marrying or having children, so why not rent out her unused space, right?

Luke Riley is a sexy firefighter who’s looking for love in all the wrong places…

Luke’s morning gets a little brighter when he’s called to a clinic and spots a blonde beauty wearing killer red boots. Though she doesn’t seem interested, he manages to introduce himself. It’s unusual for a woman to push away his advances, but Luke is attracted to her confident nature and strong personality. It’s not long before he wears her down, and she finally agrees to a date.

Who says you can’t mix work with pleasure?

Sage blames her growing affections for Luke on pregnancy hormones. But one last hurrah before her belly swells sounds like a well-deserved thrill. After a few passionate nights, the line between love and lust begins to blur—leaving her more confused than ever.

Luke is mesmerized by her keen wit and social charm. She may claim not to want children, but when she befriends his troubled foster sister, it proves there’s a heart inside of Sage waiting to be loved.

Will Sage’s surrogacy unlock her willingness to commit? Or will Luke stand by as the woman he loves plans a future without him?

4* Review: Pin-up Fireman – Vonnie Davis- Wild Heat#3

Graci-ella Santana is hired to photograph and produce a calendar of the hunky firemen of Station Thirty-two. Gossip flourishes about the sexy lady behind the camera… and her hands on approach to bring out every man’s best assets! Boyd Calloway’s having none of it. He’s in the midst of a bitter custody battle with his ex-wife. The last thing he needs is to provide the drug-dealing ex’s unsavory lawyer with a calendar filled with suggestive photographs that might prove Boyd an unfit example to his son.

My Review - Coastal

Pin-up Fireman (Wild Heat, #3)There is a definite sizzle, when Graci-ella visits fire station 32 and meets Boyd and the sexual tension grows with each encounter. As with the other books in the ‘Wild Heat’ series, the joking and taunting between the fire fighters is realistic and often humorous, which is why the newest recruit Darryl, stands out and not in a good way.

There is a lot going on in this story and the pacing is fast but the growing passion between Graci-ella and Boyd is worth reading the story for, alone. Aside from this, there’s a custody battle for a Boyd’s charming son, a conflict of interest and a thread of menace that darkens as the story progresses and makes for a powerful ending. You definitely won’t get bored reading this.

The main characters’ development is interesting, as they deal with their emotional baggage and try to build something real between them. The ‘Pin- up Fireman’ calendar photo shoot’ lightens the mood and the vivid imagery, makes you want to see the finished product.

4* Review: Santa Wore Leathers – Vonnie Davis

Continuing my out of season reviews  with this gem from Vonnie Davis a delightful read.

Take one man-shy reporter, a gorgeous ex-Navy SEAL turned firefighter, add in a thong-stealing dog… and Christmas will never be the same again!

There’s only one thing on Becca Sinclair’s Christmas list this holiday season – her very own column in the local paper. And if she can build a huge blog following, her wish just might come true.

Enter Dan ‘Wolf’ Wolford aka the man-whore next door and the new star of Becca’s popular, post-divorce blog about men. A Navy SEAL turned commander of the Florida Marine Rescue Unit, Wolf’s the very definition of the word alpha – and with an endless rotation of women on his doorstep, this hunk on a Harley has Becca and her female followers all hot and bothered!

All Becca wants for Christmas is her newspaper column, right? But when she finds herself the target of Wolf’s irresistible attentions, her snarky comebacks become less and less convincing and, suddenly, she’s not so sure anymore…

My Review

Santa Wore LeathersThe title and cover of ‘Santa Wore Leathers’ drew me right into this book even though I read it out of season.
Becca, a reporter still hurting from her failed marriage uses her witty blog to further her career. The current subject is her new neighbour an undoubtedly sexy man with the morals of an alley cat. Einstein her lovable German Shepherd dog is a delight. His penchant for stealing Becca’s sexy underwear and notable matchmaking skills appeals to all the doggy lovers like me.
When Becca meets Dan a.k.a. Wolf she feels an instant attraction but is unwilling to set herself up for another fall. Dan is smitten and determined to charm her into his bed. Misunderstandings and interventions from senior neighbours all add to the humour and complexity of this love story.
This not a traditional Christmas romance, the sentiment and goodwill attached to the season are interwoven into the storyline but the powerful interplay between Becca and Wolf as they learn to trust takes centre stage. The plot and characters are well developed and it reads more like a novel than a novella.
‘Santa Wore Leathers’ is a sexy, feel good romance. A recommended read whatever the season.
