‘You made the rules…
But you forgot I’m really good at games.’

Casino mogul Alexa Lawson always keeps the lines between her and drop-dead gorgeous bestie Carter Hayes firmly drawn. That is until Alexa’s solution to all her problems is to make Carter her super-hot, fake fiancé! Now Carter’s changing the game—into one that’s white-hot and deliciously dirty. But what happens on one wild night in Vegas might just cost them their friendship… and their hearts.

My Thoughts…

Friends to lovers trope romance with the added spice of the #Dare series.

Set in Las Vegas, the setting didn’t endear itself, neither did the gambling references. Similarly, the characters are hard to like because of their preoccupation with money, and one night stands.

Alexa, runs a casino and enjoys gambling and playing the romantic field, serially. Carter, her longtime best friend, is a technical genius, but again has made serious money by providing security devices for casinos and other organisations.

The chemistry between them is what makes this story readable. I like friends to lovers romances, but the fake engagement isn’t believable because it goes against both of the character’s independent, don’t care what anybody else thinks characteristics.

The romance is hot and sensual, but awkward in parts, maybe to illustrate the difficulties the characters had with their new relationship? The ending is happy.

She’s setting the terms… In business and pleasure!

Lucas Waring was my brother’s best friend—before he broke my heart and betrayed my family. Yet one glance from those dark, intense eyes, and that bolt of aching need returns. Now Lucas wants my business. But the nice Eva he knew is gone forever and naughty Eva wants her cake, and a taste of deliciously hot Lucas, too. Only my heart’s about to pull the biggest betrayal of all…

I received copy of this book from the author in return for an honest review.

My Thoughts…

A seductive festive treat with heartfelt emotion, sensual romance, and a strong female protagonist. There is real character development in this story, which reflects on the event when Eva was eighteen, and how much she has changed ten years on. Yet her passion for Lucas remains stronger than ever. External conflict is strong in this romance, but Eva wants the truth and is determined that this time, everything will be on her terms.

The romance is sizzling and sensual, hotly pursued by the couple’s emotional attachment, which makes this romance endearing, even though, on one level, it is all about the physical attraction. The plot is well- written and the writing style in the first-person point of view, from both protagonists, makes it immediate and believable.

The perfect stocking filler this Christmas.

The Debt – Jackie Ashenden 5* #Review @MillsandBoon @Jackie Ashenden #Dare #MillsandBoonInsiders #Romance #BookReview

She owes me a debt…

And I’m ready to collect!

I didn’t go from street fighter to billionaire by being a nice guy. Yet my fresh-faced chauffeur asks me to forgive a debt. Ellie Little needs to learn: nothing comes without a price. So I’ll offer her a deal—pretend to be my girlfriend to secure a business deal and I’ll delay calling in my investment. It’s strictly business. Sleeping with her? Forbidden! But Ellie tempts me to break the rules…

I received a copy of this book from Mills and Boon via NetGalley in return for an honest review.

My Thoughts…

The author brings her originality to this #Dare novel and makes it a sexy, glamorous, romantic story, full of conflict. Self-made billionaire Ash and car designer Ellie are both emotionally scarred, but they’re survivors and see enough similarity in each other to learn to trust. What starts off as a purely sexual adventure, becomes something more dangerous and potentially life-changing.

The story told from alternative points of view is amusing, intense, sensual, and fast-paced. The emotional journey is tortuous, but worth the pain, the romance is lovely and the ending perfect, for this sexy story.

Forbidden to Touch JC Harroway 5* #Review @MillsandBoon @jcharroway #DoYouDare #Dare #MillsandBoonInsiders #BillionaireBachelors

Contracted for work…and play?

Thigh-clenchingly hot Reid Faulkner has long been my deepest desire. Now I am contracted to redesign his hotel. Only I want more. Like a second contract where Reid fulfils my filthiest fantasies. But could burning the sheets lead to heartbreak?

Waterstones

I received a copy of this book from Mills and Boon via NetGalley in return for an honest review.

My Thoughts…

Book three in the ‘Billionaire Bachelors’ series is Reid and Blair’s story and it is sizzlingly hot.

Reid is the sensible older brother, except where his first wife was concerned, his trust in her ultimately threatened his family, and he vows not to make that mistake again When Blair, turns up unexpectedly he is surprised on three fronts. Firstly that his father commissioned her to refurbish The Faulkner, their anchor hotel, without his knowledge. Secondly, she is no longer the moody, shy teenager he remembers, from ten years ago. Finally that he is distractedly attracted to her.

Her offer, surprises and excites him and he aims to make all her fantasies come true. Unfortunately, this doesn’t guarantee them a happy-ever-after. They have professional conflicts, internal issues with trust, and family issues and expectations to consider.

The story is explicit, passionate and sensual, but the physical ecstasy is soon accompanied by emotional attachment. Can they trust each other, to go for what they want?

An incendiary ending for the billionaire bachelors. The perfect, sizzling Summer series.

His Innocent Seduction – Clare Connelly – 4* #Review -@MillsandBoon #Dare #DoYouDare #Romance @clarewriteslove #nostrings

A sexual initiation…

I enjoy the finer things—aged whisky, gourmet meals, beautiful women… So when sweet virgin Millie Davis propositions me, I vow we’ll savour every moment. It’s completely no-strings—love is too dangerous. Yet, how can someone so innocent bring me to the brink of losing control?

Amazon UK

Waterstones

I received a copy of this book from Mills and Boon via NetGalley in return for an honest review.

My Thoughts…

Heated and passionate from the start, this story has the trademark sensuality of a #Dare book, but as the story progresses the heat is fused with emotional entanglement that brings the characters’ to life. and makes you want them to have a happy ending.

Millie is on an emotional journey, travelling the world, meeting new people and experiencing new things as her mother always wanted to. In Dublin, she decides that Michael, a top barrister is just the teacher she needs for a particularly personal initiation, but will he agree?

The chemistry is hot and definitely not sweet, but one night isn’t enough. As the addictive passion escalates, so does the emotional commitment. Control and power are predominant themes of this story, but it develops in an empowering way for Millie and gives this story an excellent twist.

The final conflict is heartbreaking but utterly romantic and the ending is perfect.

Pleasure Payback – Zara Cox -5* #Review @MillsandBoon #Dare @ZCoxBooks @mayablake #DoYouDare #Romance #Insiders #TheMortimers:WealthyandWicked2

Revenge is sweet…

Damian Mortimer blew my mind in the bedroom—then nearly destroyed my business. Now, two years later, I will play him, and this time I’ll end up on top. Except what Damian does to my body might be far more exciting than the thrill of revenge!

Amazon UK

I received a copy of this book from Mills and Boon via NetGalley in return for an honest review.

My Thoughts…

This story starts hot and doesn’t stop sizzling, until its emotional climax. When Neve is on the eve of a business triumph, she allows herself a little personal celebration, whilst physically satisfying, it leaves her business in danger, and her pride in tatters, making revenge the only item on her agenda.

Meeting Damian Mortimer, two years later, she finds the physical attraction is still strong, but hopefully, she can use this to her advantage this time and make him pay. Damian is successful, rich and driven, but running from his emotions, as tries to justify his seemingly unforgivable behaviour to cousin Gideon. Neve, intended as a one time pleasure, is unforgettable, when they meet again he can’t resist her, but can his trust her?

Both protagonists are emotionally damaged but make up for this in their professional lives, both have a need to prove themselves, and trust issues, which threaten their chance of love. The romance is sensual and explicit but mirrored by a growing emotional connection and some truly romantic moments. Both characters are easy to empathise and the fast-paced plot is a page-turner. Do they get their ‘happily-ever-after? Well, this is Mills and Boon.

Take Me On – Dylan Rose – 3* #Review @MillsandBoon #Dare #DoYouDare

An erotic wager…
Who ends up on top?

Kenzie Fox is ready to sell her stake in a rum distillery until she discovers the buyer is Antonio Navedo, the arrogant stranger she’s just shared a steamy night with. Furious, she changes her mind and proposes a sexy wager instead: if she can turn the business around, she gets the distillery. If she fails he gets her shares – and anything he wants in the bedroom…including her heart

Amazon UK

I received a copy of this book from Mills and Boon via NetGalley in return for an honest review.

My Thoughts…

‘Take Me On’ is more erotica than erotic romance, a series of explicit, risque liaisons linked together with a plot featuring a woman who believes ‘it’s possible to turn round any business opportunity, even if you have no knowledge of the basics of the business.

It’s not a bad read, the chemistry between Antonio and Kenzie is hot, but I like there to be a love story too. The romance and the emotional involvement seems to be more of an add on here, than an intrinsic part of the book.
