Fingerprinted Hearts – 3*Review – Amy Spitzfaden

Sisters Fawn and Penny Anderson each have their own reason for loving More Please Bakery. It’s the place that helped Fawn heal after earth-shattering betrayal and an escape from Penny’s stalling relationship. But Fawn can’t forget her bittersweet history with the bakery’s handsome owner, Penny has a growing interest in the delivery boy, and the shop’s bank account is getting low.

When Penny lands them a celebrity client, reality TV star Delaney Roosevelt, Fawn dives in headfirst trying to come up with the perfect design. However, pleasing the starlet isn’t easy and soon heartbreak and scandal descend on the shop.

As the sisters face their romantic and professional demons they are forced to decide what is worth holding onto, and what they need to let go.

My Thoughts…

If you’re wanting a break from the wall-to-wall Christmas fiction, but still want romance and something sweet, ‘Fingerprinted Hearts’ is worth a read. Set in a bakery in Boston USA, it follows the lives of two sisters, Fawn and Penny, as they negotiate love, heartbreak and their careers.

It took me a while to get into this story, which throws you straight into Fawn’s emotional angst, but the sisters’ relationship is believable, and the plot has the necessary twists to hold the reader’s interest.

An easy to read, cosy romance with authentic characters and a popular bakery setting.

My Thoughts…

Sophie who we met in the first book in this series set in Copenhagen, is the main protagonist in this romantic and fun-filled story. New York beckons, but Sophie isn’t interested until she suffers a devastating break- up with her boyfriend and needs to escape.

Love is the last thing on her mind but she when she meets Todd, her good intentions fly out the window, despite his bad boy reputation.

She has a flat above a bakery in Brooklyn and soon meets it’s opinionated but kind-hearted Bella and her friends. The cast of characters is realistic, and each succeeds in drawing Sophie into their unique community. She excels at her job, but something is missing, will she take a chance on Todd and risk her heart again?

A gentle love story in an atmospheric setting, which is lovingly described and elevates a sweet love story into something special. If you fancy a trip to New York without the jet lag, I can recommend this story.

My Review - Coastal

This is an emotional small town romance. It shines because of its realistic characters and accurate reflection of a small town’s ethos and values.
Blighted by tragedy, Hendlee is strong and loyal; her friends mean everything to her. Quaid looks out for her but now she wants more, even though he is hell bent on leaving their small town behind, maybe forever. Quaid needs to satisfy his wanderlust and the Navy is the perfect way. He is willing to deny his feelings for Hendlee until he’s achieved his ambition. Hormones intervene but he still leaves, promising to return. Fate and human nature intrude and make a happy ever after unlikely but fate hasn’t finished with Hendlee and Quaid yet. The romance is sensual and the dialogue authentic and contemporary. The plot is simple and  a little predictable but I liked that. There are enough twists to keep me turning the pages and plenty of angst and lost opportunity. The ending is satisfying and I look forward to finding out what happens to Hendlee’s other friends.
