As hard as she tries not to feel anything, Ryan ignites a spark in her broken heart.

When he meets Maisie and notices the sadness in her eyes he is determined to put a smile on her pretty face. What starts out as innocent flirting turns into two people finding something they no longer want to live without? The problem is Maisie has deep scars inside and out. 4* Review of Stolen Hearts by Christy Newton

Stolen Hearts

A lovely debut from Christy Newton full of sweet romance, suspense and thrills.

Cammie is a great character full of youth and zest for life despite the knocks it has dealt her. Simon is a likeable, complex character and the perfect foil for Cammie’s naivety.

The author has a distinct voice which is showcased well by the romantic suspense genre.

I enjoyed the plot and pacing of the story and the intriguing twists. Looking forward to ‘Something to Treasure’ the continuation of Cammie and Simon’s adventures.

Overall an enjoyable read.

I received a copy of ‘Stolen Hearts’ from the author in exchange for an honest review.

5* Review: Begin Again Christy Newton

Begin Again

Begin Again is a sweet, poignant small town romance which is a pleasure to read.

Maisie is an island cut off from the world and her family as she grieves for the loss of husband and unborn child in a horrific tornado two years previously. She works long hours at the local diner and lives in her sister’s basement. She has little hope of enjoying life and finding love again. Physically scarred from the tornado she shies away from intimacy but it is her mental scars and self loathing she must overcome to live again.

Emotionally damaged Ryan Tucker moves to the small town in Indiana for a new start as the local exotic animal vet. His love of apple pie draws him to the local diner where he meets Maisie a beautiful woman with sad green eyes. He vows to make her smile and the charming romance begins.

Maisie attracts empathy and loyalty. The internal conflict is believable and increases your support of Maisie in her quest to overcome the past. Ryan is charming and caring and every inch the dashing hero but as the story progresses you realise he isn’t perfect either. This increases his charm and makes him real.

The support cast of characters in the diner and Maisie and Ryan’s respective families enhance the story and reinforce the ethos of small town living. The animals featured are characters in their own right and give the story instant appeal.

A plot with numerous twists interwoven with well-developed characters makes you care and keeps you turning the pages.

The traditional values of this story are given a contemporary slant and reflect the distinctive voice of the author it is easy to read and hard to put down…

A Guide to Love – Remy – Meet My Character Blog Tour

My friend Christy Newton is guest blogging here today and is going to introduce one of her characters as part of the meet my character blog tour. Over to you Christy. 🙂

Lovely Jane Hunt invited me to take part in the Meet My Character Blog Tour. Last week she introduced me to Zane the wolf shifter from The Dragon Legacy. You can read about him here.

Sexy and determined, Remy Rosetto must go to Sand Crest Island to find a letter from his grandfather in order to earn his inheritance. Remy finds the island quaint, but really just wants to get back to his penthouse in New York… even richer than he already is. He has no interest what the island has to offer until he runs into exotic Daphne.

Remy is sexy! And he smells like spice cake and heaven.

Here is a quote from a reviewer about Remy:

“Now Remy.. oh Remy! Mr. Sex on a stick, man in a suit…. He’s charming, SEXY, loving, sweet and cares a lot about Daphne. You will fall for his charm, gestures and little things he does for Daphne. And the realizations that come to him on this overall journey for him. And you will love him with his fabulous lines.” Remy is also very determined to get what he wants, especially when what he wants changes from his inheritance to Daphne.”

Here is an excerpt:

EXCERPT

‘He grinned. “I’m staying.” “Fine.” She stood up. “Help me to my room, then.” Remy smiled as if he’d won a prize. He put his arm around her waist and helped her hobble to her room. When they reached her door, he turned her to face him. “Goodnight.” Without warning, he moved his lips to hers. When he slipped his tongue into her mouth, instead of protesting, she grabbed the back of his head and pressed his mouth harder into hers. Dizziness consumed her. His hands massaged her butt as he pulled her closer into the hardness of him. Mmm. He tasted as good as he smelled.’

Meet My Character Blog Tour – Zane – Wolf Shifter- The Revenge Masquerade (The Dragon Legacy Series #2)

My wonderful writing pal Shehanne Moore – Smexy Historical Romance invited me to take part in the Meet My Character Blog Tour.

Last week she introduced the courtesan half of her next novel

‘The Viking and the Courtesan’

Lady Malice.-  You  can read about her here.

I’m introducing my latest hero Zane the wolf shifter who many of you may remember from The Dragon Legacy.
Zane and his witch Jasmine made such an impact on me and my readers that I wrote their story as the second book in The Dragon Legacy Series even though neither of them are dragons. 🙂

I enjoyed putting together my Pinterest board for the Revenge Masquerade, particularly searching for visual inspiration for Zane both the man and the wolf.

Zane met Lukas nearly a thousand years ago when the dragon saved him from demons who slayed his family…

‘The angry cries of desperation from his allies, the wolf- shifters, alerted him. He swooped and scorched the demons with his fiery breath. Too late. All the wolf-shifters lay dead, except for Zane. He still fought, covered in blood and gore, with tears of hate and grief on his face. He didn’t notice Lukas at first, fighting for his life with increased desperation as he watched his family die around him. The
attack was so quick; the wolves couldn’t shift in time. Zane killed the last demon as Lukas landed.’

Fire met Ice when Jasmine saw Zane

‘A flash of silver hair caught her attention as Jasmine carried a tray of clean glasses out of the conservatory. Zane, she ignored the unexpected hypnotic pull. She wouldn’t turn round for another man in pursuit of her power.
“Hi, shall I walk you into dinner?” Zane’s deep voice forced her acknowledgement of him, so Jasmine smiled. “Thanks, but,” she indicated her outfit, glad of her watertight excuse, “as you can see I’m the hired help. I’ll be serving at the table rather than sitting at it.” ‘

‘Zane ushered her into the alcove, dominated by a beautiful lemon tree. Her stiff shoulders betrayed her annoyance, but her body relaxed as his warmth enveloped her. A small victory since Jasmine let his alpha behavior pass without comment. “You need to stay away from Xavier. He knows who you are. He wants your power.” Jasmine’s gaze clouded. “I don’t understand. What do you mean, who I am?” He didn’t have time for games. “He knows you’re a witch!” ‘

Zane is a heartbreaker…

‘He smiled at the thought of the fiery haired witch saving herself for him. Strong willed, powerful and a future guardian witch, she didn’t need a man to complete her life. Fortunately he was more than a man.”I have to go Jasmine.”
“You’re leaving now?” Shock and disbelief filled her emerald gaze hastily masked. “Oh, I see. You meant to say goodbye and leave before and instead we… This was a mistake then.” She looked away but not quickly enough for him to miss the sheen of tears which marred her sparkling green eyed gaze.’

And a Fighter…

‘Zane launched himself at Xavier
and pinned him against the jagged rock. He threw his head back and plunged in for the kill.’

The Dragon Legacy

My first book…

The Dragon Legacy Cover

‘When emotionally fragile Fleur Curwen decides she wants excitement in her boring life she signs up for a Murder Mystery Weekend in the wilds of the English Lake District. She enters a paranormal world where danger and death are common occurrences.

Demon slayer Lukas Draco is a loner. He lives by two simple rules: No emotional entanglements and duty must remain his first priority. His beliefs are challenged when he’s inexplicably drawn to Fleur, a human woman with an unusual psychic aura. Sparks of sexual attraction ignite threatening both his search for the dragon’s egg he buried a thousand years ago and Fleur’s life. Under the cover of a murder mystery weekend an apocalyptic hunt begins’

Excerpts of Reviews:

‘The Dragon Legacy by Jane Hunt is an atmospheric work of art… This page-turner of a paranormal romance with its twist, beautiful imagery, hot scenes, and a great ending makes for a terrific read. I can’t wait to read more of Ms Hunt’s books.’ Anastasia Ryan (5*)

‘The passion burns between them as white-hot as a passion involving dragon magic should… I give The Dragon Legacy 4.5 stars out of five. It’s a terrific read, and I hope it’s the start of a writing legacy from Jane Hunt. I had to go back and double-check that this was her debut novel, which it is; I wouldn’t have thought it from this book.’ Mac Rome.(4.5*)

‘This is the type of story that you’d better be prepared to buckle up ‘cause it’s a fast, schmexy ride… Fast-paced paranormal romance with twists and turns, lots of interesting snippets, lyrical prose, HOT sexy scenes, and a happy ending!’ Sweet & Spicy Tales.(5*)

‘The Dragon Legacy starts off with sizzle and a heap of intrigue that has you page turning at a frantic pace. This isn’t a Whodunnit? but more of a ‘What the heck are they and will they survive?’ Tracey Rogers(5*)

‘The story is dark, the romance intense. If you’re looking for a different world to escape into, pick this book for a page-turning read.’ Fiona Chapman(4*)

‘Ever met a dragon on the bus? (I wish if he was like Lukas.)
An enjoyable, quirky story… All in all, it is a very promising debut, I look forward to reading more by this author.’ Beloved Eleanor (4*)

‘I don’t want to give away any spoilers, but this Murder Mystery Weekend is not at all what I – or the main character, Fleur – expected. Not at all! … There are some very interesting supporting characters in this book, and I could see them each starring in a future book. They have interesting stories to be told.’ Journeys with Noelle (4*)

Hotter than a fire-breathing dragon!

‘The Dragon Legacy is hotter than a fire-breathing dragon. Whew! This story about Lukas and Fleur was fast-paced, interesting and had the kind of ending I was hoping for. Hoping there will be another book about Zane and Jasmine? Well done, Jane Hunt.’    5* Review from Christy Newton
