Temptation in Istanbul Hana Sheik 4*#Review @HanaSoChic @HarlequinBooks @MillsandBoon @rararesources #MillsandBoonTrueLove #HarlequinRomance #BlogBlitz #BookReview #SecondChance #Romance #TemptationinIstanbul #publicationdaypush #publicationday

Escape to Istanbul, where a nanny may just tempt a bruised billionaire to give love a second chance in this heartwarming romance by Hana Sheik.

A single dad’s greatest temptation?

The nanny on his doorstep!

Billionaire Faisal is anxiously awaiting custody of his little girl, who’s been living miles away with her mother. First, he must win the approval of her nanny, Maryan, who has travelled with her to Istanbul. While he shows Maryan the delights of his city, the instant attraction between them is hard to ignore. But Maryan leaves in two weeks, so Faisal must decide how much of his bruised heart he is prepared to risk…

I received a copy of this book from the author and publisher.

My Thoughts…

Billionaire Faisal wants to reconnect with his young daughter, who he has seen little of since his break up with her mother. He is determined to make time for her in his busy life. Maryan wants Zara to be happy with her father, but she needs him to know what that requires, even if she oversteps.

Maryan and Faisel have an instant attraction that they both dismiss. Both have trust issues, and they live in different worlds. When Faisel asks Maryann to stay at his home to settle his daughter, they are in each other’s orbit, and the temptation to give in to their feelings is too powerful to resist.

Gentle romance full of internal and external conflicts. The characters are likeable, and you want them to find happiness together. I like the setting and the chemistry between Faisel and Maryan.

Jean Fullerton, the RNA-shortlisted queen of the East End, returns with the final nostalgic and heart-warming story of the Brogan family.

In the final days of the war, only love will pull her through . . .

Queenie Brogan wasn’t always an East End matriarch. Many years ago, before she married Fergus, she was Philomena Dooley, a daughter of Irish Travellers, planning to wed her childhood sweetheart, Patrick Mahone. But when tragedy struck and Patrick’s narrow-minded sister, Nora, intervened, the lovers were torn apart.

Fate can be cruel, and when Queenie arrives in London she finds that Patrick Mahon is her parish priest and that the love she had tried to suppress flares again in her heart.

But now in the final months of WW2, Queenie discovers Father Mahon is dying and must face losing him forever. Can she finally tell him the secret she has kept for over fifty years or will Nora once again come between them?

And if Queenie does decide to finally tell Patrick, could the truth destroy the Brogan family?

Amazon UK

I received a copy of this book from the publisher.

My Thoughts…

The final chapter in the ration book series is predominately set in 1944 and explores the approaching end of WW2 and how it affects the Brogan family. The main focus is on Queenie, the matriarch who has a touching romance and tragic loss in her early life. Queenie’s viewpoint alternates between her early years in Ireland in the late nineteenth century and her present life in the East End of London in 1944.

Queenie’s story poignantly told shows how she became the woman she is, particularly her strength of character and love of her family. Billy also has a storyline that gives him defining character development.

I love the family dynamic, the flawed characters that give the story its humour and heartache and the wonderfully described setting that comes to life on every page.

Born and bred in East London Jean is a District Nurse by trade and has worked as an NHS manager and as a senior lecturer in Health and Nursing Studies. She left her day job to become a full-time writer in 2015 and has never looked back.

The Earl Should Never Desire Lara Temple 5*#Review @laratemple1 @MillsandBoon @HarlequinBooks #MillsandBoonHistorical #HistoricalRomance #BookReview #RegencyRomance @rararesources #TheEarlShouldNeverDesire

This very handsome earl…Is the one man she cannot fall for…
War widow Lily Walsh has left her aristocratic family behind, but she can’t deny her younger sister’s request to come to London to meet her fiancé. Though not a love match, Lord Sherborne is kind, amusing and ideal for her sister on paper. But as Lily gets to know him, she’s finding him alarmingly attractive! And the forbidden look in the earl’s eye shows the feeling is mutual…

Books 2 Read Buy Link Amazon Paperback

I received a copy of this book from the author.

My Thoughts…

Lily is a war widow scarred from the war. She teaches veterans and their families in Birmingham. She is devoted to her younger siblings, and when her sister, the toast of society despite the family’s lack of wealth, asks her to London to meet her future husband, she cannot refuse. Marcus promised his mother that he would marry. Anne is beautiful and will make a good mother. A marriage of convenience is fine until he meets Lily.

I enjoyed this Regency romance full of wit and sizzling desire tempered by honour. A sparkling forbidden attraction between Lily and Marcus remains unrequited because of her love for her sister and his sense of integrity. The plot is simple but effective, and the reader hopes for a happy ending but is never sure it will be until the emotional and romantic conclusion.

Lara Temple

Lara Temple writes strong and sensual Regency romances about complex individuals who give no quarter but do so with plenty of passion.
She lives with her husband, two children, and one very fluffy dog and they are all very understanding about her taking over the kitchen table so she can look out over the garden as she writes and dreams up her Happy Ever Afters.

Secrets Behind The Billionaire’s Return Rachael Stewart 5*#Review @rach_b52 @MillsandBoon @HarlequinBooks @rararesources #MillsandBoonTrueLove #secondchance #BookBlitz #BookReview #Romance #giveaway #SecretsBehindTheBillionairesReturn

Find out what happens when a billionaire returns to Felicity’s life in book one of Rachael Stewart’s new duet, Claiming the Ferrington Empire, from Harlequin Romance.

The man she never forgot…

The feelings she never lost…

Sixteen years ago, Felicity fell in love with the boy from Ferrington Manor. But their affair was short-lived when Sebastian vanished and she was left with the secret consequence of their love. Now he’s back and his return sends shock waves through Felicity! Will the revelations about Sebastian’s departure be enough for Felicity to succumb to the feelings that still draw her to him?

Amazon UK

I received a copy of this book from the author.

My Thoughts…

Sebastian can’t face returning to the house and estate where he grew up sixteen years after leaving. He is drawn to the local B&B and wonders if his first love is still there. Felicity’s feelings quickly surface when Sebastian walks into her life after sixteen years. Nothing has changed in her heart, but she has a big secret to share.

Full of angst, passion and romance, this is a lovely story. Felicity is an easy character to like. Sebastian is troubled, and their second chance takes them through many emotions. A heartwarming read with realistic circumstances and a lovely romantic conclusion.

Rachael Stewart

Rachael Stewart adores conjuring up stories, from heartwarmingly romantic to wildly erotic.

She’s been writing since she could put pen to paper as the stacks of scrawled-on pages in her loft will attest to, and the lovingly bound short stories that her father would run off at work and proudly share out with his colleagues. Thinking it was a pipe dream to be published one day, she pursued a sensible career in business but she was really play-acting, achieving the appropriate degree and spending many years in the corporate world where she never truly belonged. Always happiest when she was sat at her laptop in the quiet hours tapping out a story or two. And so here she is a published author, her full-time pleasure, a dream come true.

A Welsh lass at heart, she now lives in Yorkshire with her very own hero and three awesome kids, and if she’s not tapping out a story, she’s wrapped up in them or enjoying the great outdoors.

Rainbows End in Ferry Lane Market Nicola May 5* #Review @NicolaMay1 @HodderBooks @rararesources #Cornwall #Market #Family #Friendship #Relationships #Romance #Art #love #mystery #SelfRealisation #BlogTour #BookReview #PublicationDay #giveaway

Book Three in bestselling sensation Nicola May’s gorgeous new series – catch up with Book One, WELCOME TO FERRY LANE MARKET, and Book Two, STARRY SKIES IN FERRY LANE MARKET, now!

39-year-old Glanna Pascoe – also known as ‘the Rainbow Painter’ – runs the Hartmouth Gallery in Ferry Lane Market in Cornwall. She is just getting her head and broken heart around being single, childless, and sober when Cupid flies in, shooting arrows all over the place.

Meeting the mysterious and fascinating Isaac Benson, a famous local artist, and recluse, allows Glanna’s disillusioned heart and attitude to soften, and she begins to learn more about herself than she ever thought possible. Confused by her growing feelings for Isaac, Glanna throws herself into organising a life-drawing class at her gallery, using both male and female nudes – and setting local tongues wagging.

A theft from her gallery and the return of ex-love Oliver Trueman cause Glanna to wonder if a pot of gold will be appearing at the end of her rainbow. And will it bring her the happiness, she has sought for so long?

Amazon UK Amazon

I received a copy of this book from Hodder and Stoughton.

My Thoughts…

Ferry Lane Market is a memorable setting, and the author brings it to life with its relatable characters and detailed description. Glanna’s journey of self-realisation is believably poignant. Her battle with addiction and her lack of self despite her material wealth resonates. Old friends from the market reappear, sharing their life events, and there are plenty of humorous interludes.

I enjoyed getting to know the Ferry Lane Market community, who are standout characters. This book is most notable for its lovely friendships and the element of forgiveness it portrays. A perfect summer read set in a picturesque coastal location, immersive and uplifting.

Nicola May writes ‘chick-lit with a kick’ and is the internationally bestselling author of fifteen romantic comedies. All have appeared in the Kindle bestseller charts. A Laird for the Governess Catherine Tinley 5* #Review @CatherineTinley @MillsandBoon @HarlequinBooks @rararesources #BlogTour #BookReview #MillsandBoonHistorical #Hebrides #HarlequinHistorical #HistoricalFiction #ALairdfortheGoverness #HistoricalRomance

A penniless governess

And the dour Laird of Ardmore

Lydia Farnham must travel to a remote Scottish island to work for widower Alasdair MacDonald, who doesn’t trust her or her unconventional teaching methods! Yet as his daughter flourishes, so, too, does the intense connection between Lydia and Alasdair. Only she should know better than to fall for the handsome laird when it could leave her without a job, or a home…

I received a copy of this book from the author in return for an honest review.

My Thoughts…

The first book in the Lairds of the Isles series is an insightful romantic tale that highlights the plight of women in early nineteenth-century society through its engaging storytelling and complex characters.

Lydia’s life as a governess is unpredictable and unsafe due to various evil men. The chance to escape to a remote destination instantly appeals, but everything is different, even the language. She wonders how safe she will be on the remote isle with the uncompromising Laird.

The attraction is instant and unwelcome for both of them, but as they get to know each other in the close-knit castle community, they form a tentative friendship. Lydia and Alasdair’s bond strengthened through Laird’s daughter, a lovely character, and tragic events.

The gentle romance and sense of community make this an engaging and uplifting romantic read.

Tempted by the Runes Christina Courtenay 5*#Review @PiaCCourtenay @headlinepg @rararesources #HistoricalRomance #Vikings #timeslip #ContemporaryRomance #BlogTour #BookReview #Runes #Dublin #Iceland #Giveaway #TemptedbytheRunes

Born centuries apart. Bound by a love that defied time.

She couldn’t believe her eyes. The runes were normally so reliable and she had never doubted them before.

Madison Berger is visiting Dublin with her family for a Viking re-enactment festival when she chances upon a small knife embedded in the banks of the Liffey. Maddie recognises what the runes on the knife’s handle signify: the chance to have her own adventures in the past.

Maddie only intends to travel back in time briefly, but a skirmish in 9th century Dublin results in her waking up on a ship bound for Iceland, with the man who saved her from attack.

Geir Eskilsson has left his family in Sweden to boldly carve out a life of his own. He is immediately drawn to Maddie, but when he learns of her connection to his sisters-in-law, he begins to believe that Fate has played a part in bringing them together. Amidst the perils that await on their journey to a new land, the truest battle will be to win Maddie’s heart and convince her that the runes never lie…

Amazon UK Amazon

I received a copy of this book from Headline Books in return for an honest review.

My Thoughts…

Maddie, and Gier, are relatable vibrant characters who set out on an adventurous, romantic journey. The author creates a believably vivid Viking world using historical detail and sensory imagery.

Maddie is a likeable, impulsive character whose character develops with her timeslip adventure. The reality of 9th century Viking life jars with her theoretical knowledge, and she has to accept this and learn to achieve her true potential in the Viking world. Gier has knowledge of time travel, and he sees the runes as a sign, Maddie and he will be together. The chemistry between them builds with emotional commitment and proximity. Maddie remains the biggest challenge to their happiness. Can a twenty-first-century woman be fulfilled in a 9th Century Viking world?

This is an engaging tale of danger and desire with characters who resonate.

Beauty And The Reclusive Millionaire Rachael Stewart 5*#Review @rach_b52 @MillsandBoon @HarlequinBooks @rararesources #MillsandBoonTrueLove #BookBlitz #BookReview #Romance #BeautyAndTheReclusiveMillionaire #giveaway

An unforgettable Greek escape…

with the man she never forgot!

A-list actress Catherine Wilde has it all, but behind closed doors, she is fighting personal battles. So the chance to escape to the private Greek island of her best friend’s brother, Alaric, offers the tranquillity she craves. Except seeing Alaric again sets her heart rate soaring. Life might have changed him, but he can still make her feel alive—and when the torch she once held for him reignites, it’s impossible to ignore!

Amazon UK

I received a copy of this book from the author in return for an honest review.

My Thoughts…

Beauty and the Beast is one of my favourite fairytales, and this author gives the reader a contemporary slant on the original, brimming with drama, emotion and romance. Catherine and Alaric are both likeable protagonists who are lacking in self-worth. They need each other to realise they seek a love that completes them.

Their emotional connection is strong from the beginning, rooted in childhoods spent together. Both have suffered losses that have left them emotionally bereft. The conflicts between them are numerous, but their chemistry and history make romance inevitable. The passion reflects their emotional commitment, and the ending is romantic.

My Thoughts…

This is an ideal activity journal for any pony obsessed young person. Its easy to understand layout, relevant questions, and horse orientated activities make it educational and fun. It charts both weekly and monthly progress with pony care and riding. There is space to record the pony you rode that week and what activities you did, what you learnt and what you need to practice. There are art projects, quiz and fun activities to complete, all reinforcing knowledge learnt.

Like all the journals written by this author, the emphasis is on having fun. However, her horsey knowledge ensures the young people learn meaningfully too. It will appeal to both boys and girls. It’s the perfect contemporary equivalent of the pony annuals I used to read.

As snow falls and secrets are revealed, Iris must decide her future. Will she be brave enough to start over and take a chance on love?

I received a copy of this book from the author in return for an honest review.

My Thoughts…

Iris finds her life upturned when her partner of several years accepts his dream job in Amsterdam. The lack of discussion before he accepts this role makes him seem selfish, unlike Iris, who wants to make him happy, even though she has doubts.

Amsterdam proves to be a journey of self-discovery for Iris, as she rediscovers her creativity and finds friends who appreciate her. The story is full of vivid descriptions from Iris’perspective that makes the story entertaining and informative for the reader.

Iris has to choose whether to follow her dreams. Invested in her happiness, you want her to decide wisely. The characters are believably flawed and relatable, the setting immerses you in Iris’ adventure, and the story is heartwarming and uplifting to read.
