Lucas seems to be the world’s unluckiest kid. He gets splashed on the way to school every time it rains. Birds are queuing up to poop on his head. And he narrowly avoids being crushed by a falling meteor. But all that changes when his Mum lends him his Dad’s lucky football pants. Another fantastic tale from the Author and Illustrator team behind My Mum’s a Bug-eyed Monster!

I received a copy of this book from the author and publisher.

My Thoughts…

A lighthearted and colourfully illustrated rhyming tale about a young boy and his luck, it explores how luck is a subjective thing and shows that a positive outlook can change your fortunes. The rhyming is fun, and the bright illustrations help younger children visualise the text.

It’s the type of short picture book that kids will return to, too, and it’s fun for the adults reading it with them. I enjoyed the rhymes and the appealing illustrations.
