My Thoughts…
Genny is used to dealing with difficult people and situations as a young woman she lived with her grandfather a General in the Spanish wars, and that’s where she met Captian Carrington. Kit Carrington now Lord Westford has no fond memories of the Carrington family except his stepmother and half-sister Emily. Forced back to London he faces a battle with a formidable enemy with his heart at stake.
This is an enjoyable historical romance with vividly portrayed characters. Genny is a coper and a manager out of necessity. Her conflicted romance with Kit makes her long for a different life. The chemistry simmers, as the witty dialogue and subterfuge play out between Genny and Kit. This is a romantic story full of emotion and passion. Reading this is a lovely way to spend a cold winter’s afternoon.
Lara Temple writes strong and sensual Regency romances about complex individuals who give no quarter, but do so with plenty of passion.
She lives with her husband, two children, and one very fluffy dog and they are all very understanding about her taking over the kitchen table so she can look out over the garden as she writes and dreams up her Happy Ever Afters.
