My Thoughts…

An easy to read adventure story set in Scotland, with a clear message about the environment and how easy it is to damage natural balance. Tom and Beth are unhappy about moving to a coastal town in Scotland. Short of things to do and friends, they encounter an eccentric professor, who is an inventor. Threatened with an environmental disaster when a tanker runs aground, the professor’s inventions offer the only source of hope. Tom and Beth realise that protecting the environment is everybody’s job and help the professor, as he battles to avert a devastating oil leak.

Breaker gives young readers, and adults, the chance to experience a contemporary adventure. The story has a pacy, exciting plot, believable characters and an important environmental message.
