Every time I read a book in the ‘Romantic Escapes’ series, I love it, and this one is no exception. Romantic Paris, delicious patisserie, a lovable heroine and a grumpy, gorgeous hero, need I say more?
Nina, the baby of the family, is tired of all the well-meaning interference in her life, she wants to be independent and find out if she can use her talent for baking to forge a career. The opportunity seems heaven sent, but then she finds out her boss is the man she grew up with and has always loved, too bad he never saw her that way.
Nina discovers so much more in Paris than a talent for patisserie, although it’s absorbing reading about all the delicate patisserie she makes. Her relationships with the people on the patisserie course make this story heartwarming, and her gradual acceptance that her love for Sebastian, will not go away shows she has the tenacity to fight for something she wants.
Sebastian fears to lose his surrogate family if he gives into his feeling for Nina, but her empathy, hard work and desirability make falling in love with her again inevitable but will he take the chance?
Romance, humour, an authentic cast of characters and a beautifully described setting make this story of second chances and growing up a sweet delight to read.
I received a copy of this book from Harper Impulse via NetGalley in return for an honest review.
