BREAKING DOWN SYDNEY by Brittney Coon

A Sydney West Novel, Book 2

Cover Designer: TOJ Publishing Services

Winter Blurb

Sydney West’s new relationship might have survived Malibu, but her transformation from party girl to girlfriend isn’t complete…

Sydney is back in Arizona, and with the fall semester at her doorstep, doubts about her so-called summer love start to plague her. A good girl can only stay good for so long. Jason King changed her and made her wonder if love was real. But now, far from his charm, and with the party scene on campus in full swing, the magic is fading…

Jason isn’t willing to let distance drive a wedge between them…

A surprise reunion and a romantic cabin getaway is enough to reignite their summertime spark, but Sydney isn’t convinced this whole monogamous, meeting-your-parents thing Jason wants is possible. No boy has ever met her mother. Then, when a sudden family tragedy strikes, it sends her spiraling into her old habits of booze and boys.

Sydney can only hide from her past for so long…

In the fog of drowning her sorrows, Sydney realizes her former party lifestyle won’t make her happy. Her one-night stands ended with Jason. As much as she wants to believe in that far-fetched fairytale ending, she’s afraid if Jason finds out about all her summer boys, he will abandon her just like her father did.

Jason refuses to settle for the superficial shell Sydney keeps between them, though, and is determined to…

Break Down Sydney once and for all.

Summer at the Comfort Food Cafe – Debbie Johnson – 5* Review

Summer at the Comfort Food Café
By Debbie Johnson

eBook: 29th April 2016 | PB: 16th June 2016

BLURB

The Comfort Food Café is perched on a windswept clifftop at what feels like the edge of the world, serving up the most delicious cream teas; beautifully baked breads, and carefully crafted cupcakes. For tourists and locals alike, the ramshackle cafe overlooking the beach is a beacon of laughter, companionship, and security – a place like no other; a place that offers friendship as a daily special, and where a hearty welcome is always on the menu.

For widowed mum-of-two Laura Walker, the decision to uproot her teenaged children and make the trek from Manchester to Dorset for the summer isn’t one she takes lightly, and it’s certainly not winning her any awards from her kids, Nate and Lizzie. Even her own parents think she’s gone mad.

But following the death of her beloved husband David two years earlier, Laura knows that it’s time to move on. To find a way to live without him, instead of just surviving. To find her new place in the world, and to fill the gap that he’s left in all their lives.

Her new job at the café, and the hilarious people she meets there, give Laura the chance she needs to make new friends; to learn to be herself again, and – just possibly – to learn to love again as well.

For her, the Comfort Food Café doesn’t just serve food – it serves a second chance to live her life to the full…

My Review - Coastal

Even at the story’s poignant beginning, the humour shines through, in the words of the enigmatic Laura, the heroine of this unusual story. I loved that we gathered all the necessary back story information, in letter form, as she answered a unique advertisement for a strange but intriguing, lifestyle job.
Laura is honest, loyal and has a lovely self -depreciating humour that is recognisable to most women, who have families, where they are the unappreciated lynchpin. The journey to their new adventure shares similarities, with most people’s long car journeys, with children and animals. The realistic dialogue and bordering on chaos scenarios made me giggle and reminiscence.
Despite Laura’s fragile emotional state, a delightful sense of humour runs through this story. From the first meeting with the ‘Tall bloke.’ the visuals are great, so easy to imagine, especially ‘the flying undies as the top box is unpacked’.
The VIPS that make up the cafe regulars, all have a story to share as they reveal idiosyncrasies and secrets. Laura starts to heal as she listens to the cafe’s regulars stories and Matt (the tall bloke), help’s her discover the side of herself she never really knew existed.
This is a story of healing, family and being brave enough to dip your toe back in the pond again, after life’s unpredictable knocks. I would love to find this Cafe that restores your faith in human nature.
I received a copy of this book from Harper Collins in return for an honest review.

Blog Image- My review

So, are cupcakes, an unlikely wedding planner and a grumpy but gorgeous farmer, the perfect recipe for a romantic comedy? Definitely. I’ve eagerly anticipated reading this story and the reality far surpassed the expectation.

Poppy our cake maker, extraordinaire becomes a reluctant wedding planner at the insistence of her best friends. Her first encounter with Rafe, is messy, the second is disjointed and strangely confusing. As the months pass she learns there is more to her disinterested and often rude boss, than she first thought. Not just in terms of personality.
Told from Poppy’s first person point of view, you quickly discover she is a delightful character. Loyal, hard working and determined to rebuild her shattered life after her despicable ex and the unexpected death of her mum.

Poppy, Cate and Immie’s long term friendship makes for lots of funny dialogue and amusing anecdotes.

Rafe is complex and has a heart of gold beneath his gruff exterior, the perfect romantic comedy hero. His love of slogan T-shirts makes for amusing reading, there is certainly a market for these.

There are lots of ‘laugh out loud’ scenes that had me crying with laughter. The setting, both at the farm and the wedding shop is full of vivid imagery.

The scenes in Poppy’s eyrie at the top of the wedding shop are so well described you can practically smell the baking cakes and taste the sweet icing.

Poppy and Rafe’s relationship simmers in a believable way and has many romantic and comic moments that have you rooting for their happy ever after.

Funny, poignant and unashamedly romantic, this story is a summer treat you won’t want to miss.

Excerpt - 1

“No! Andy…please!”
I was roughly shoved into the back of a black car. The door slammed shut, the front door opened soon after and he got in. There was a click, as the car was locked. He threw the car into forward, and took off at an insane speed leaving everyone I knew and cared for behind.
I watched in terror as trees whizzed by, leaving the familiar surroundings behind as the road went from pavement to dirt and the buildings were replaced with large trees and fallen branches. I didn’t know where we were going, but I wanted to go home. The locks wouldn’t budge; the child safety lock prevented my escape the moment he had locked me in this god-forsaken car. I had lost my phone in the struggle, and I was stuck in here.
There were scratch marks and dark spots on the seat. It looked as though someone had tried to claw their way out and I couldn’t blame them. Every hair on my neck were standing on end with fear blazing through me. My throat was sore from the screaming, but all the drivers had ignored my pleas for help. They simply kept driving without another sideways glance in my direction.
“Where are you taking me?” I asked again, my voice hoarse from the screams and crying. It was answered the same way, with silence that slowly crept in and made me shudder.
“Shut up!’
“Where are we going?”
“Be a good girl and take orders. Now shut up!”
I wished more than anything to be back at home and under my bed, away from him. The road turned to gravel as we came upon a rundown house, its shudders were falling of the hinges, but what caught me was the windows were boarded up. To prevent escape, I felt a shiver travel up my spine as the car came to a slow stop.
He got out of the car and didn’t unlock the doors until he was at the door. That small click would have brought me relief at any point in the car ride other than now. I pushed against the other side of the car as he reached one long hand in and grabbed me by my ankle and roughly yank me out of the car on to the gravel. A scream ripped through my throat as the gravel cut into my skin and my head hit the side of the car.
“Get up!” he ordered. My head was spinning from everything that had happened, but when I didn’t move, he moved me.
His hand grabbed take a large chunk of my hair before he lifted me out of the car, ignoring my cries of pain. He roughly dragged me to the house, I couldn’t get my feet to walk and fell often.
The door was solid, he had to slam his body against the wooden blockade and force it open. There was a creak as it slowly opened from his blows, and he threw me inside onto the hardwood floor. There was no carpet, anywhere It would be possible to hear every step from anywhere in the home. The house was bare to the bones, the walls held no photos or phones, rooms remained empty of furniture unless it was bolted to the ground. A new wave of fear ripped through me in realization that he had done this before, he had taken precautions for it.

Mystery Thriller My Review

Amber Alert
Written from a first person point of view, the reader immediately experiences all the emotions of Anna, the lead character in this suspenseful story. There is a naivety to the writing, which is in stark contrast the horrors revealed as the plot progresses. Anna is a courageous character and from her vivid description and reactions it’s easy to imagine her terror. This is peek through your fingers suspense as Anna realises few people can be trusted. There are some lovely relationships formed in this story between unlikely individuals thrown together by circumstance. The ending is thrilling and makes you want to see what happens next.

Abducted
This story is set many years after the conclusion of Amber Alert; it deals with similar themes but doesn’t have the menace of the first book in the series, although there is plenty of mystery and suspense. The story is complete but reading the first book in the series ‘Amber Alert’ is essential to appreciate the danger faced by the heroine. Again full of unusual relationships this book provides a steady link between the ‘Amber Alert’ and ‘Apprehended’ the last book in the series.

Apprehended
The final book of the ‘Amber Alert series’ completes the story started twenty years previously. Another serial kidnapper and possibly murderer is taking young women. Whilst there are similarities with the antagonist in the first book, the copycat has subtle differences. There is a suspenseful twist that takes the story in an unexpected direction. The characters’ emotions convey the horrors of their abduction and avoid the need for overly graphic descriptions. The ‘love at first sight’ theme continues in ‘Apprehended’. The ending completes the series in a satisfying way.
I received copies of the books in this series from the author in return for honest reviews.

Krysten Lindsay Hager – Author Interview

Author Interview

Today  I have author Krysten Lindsay Hager on my blog, talking about her books, writing and her writing plans for the rest of the year. Krysten writes young adult and teen novels. It’s lovely to have you on my blog today Krysten.

8298036

How did you become a writer? Do you write full time or in your leisure time?

I started out as a journalist and was writing fiction on the side, but now I do fiction full-time. I’ve been writing stories all my life and I think that stems from daydreaming a lot in class back when I was in grade school.

You write young adult and teen stories, which emphasise family values and the importance of friendship. What made you want to write in these particular genres?

I took the advice of, ‘You should write the book you’d want to read,” and went from there. I loved reading YA when I was a preteen and teen and those were the books I turned to when I was going through difficulties in my own life, so I kind of want to give back to the genre and do for someone else what amazing writers like Paula Danziger, Ann M. Martin, and Judy Blume did for me.

Can you describe your writing process if you have one?

I don’t have a regular process, but I edit as I go because it helps me get back into the flow of the story.

28907900

Can you tell us a little about your latest release ‘Competing with the Star’, part of your ‘Star series’? Are there going to be more books in the series?

Competing with the Star deals with Hadley Daniels having her first boyfriend and all the insecurities that go along with that especially when his ex-girlfriend is still interfering and then finding out he once had a huge crush on teen TV star Simone Hendrickson—who just happens to be their neighbour and who is also into him. I put myself into Hadley’s shoes and imagined how I’d react if I found out my boyfriend now had a chance with his dream girl.
I’m finishing writing the follow-up book to it which will be titled: Aligning with the Star. There are some changes coming up for Hadley as she gets a chance to meet and be in a music video with her rock star crush. Can you imagine meeting your crush and he’s everything you imagined and more?

How important is writing in your life? Why do you enjoy it?

I can’t imagine not writing—it’s just what I do. I’m lucky to be able to have five books published, but even if I never got published I would continue to write. It’s a way to express myself and to help others deal with feelings they are having as well.

Do you have a dedicated work space? Can you describe it for us?

I do my writing on a desk that is usually littered with pages that have been edited and need to go into the computer along with toys and little presents people have given me which cover the surface.

How important is an author’s social media presence? Do you have a favourite social media platform and why?

I think it’s a great way for readers to be able to connect with writers. I enjoy it. I love getting messages and comments from readers. I’m on all the social media sites.

Have you a favourite author, book or genre that you like to read?

I read a lot of non-fiction—lately I’ve been on a real non-fiction kick. I have been reading Gabrielle Bernstein’s work this past month. I lost my dad a few months ago and I tried grief books and honestly, those made things worse and I found her books to be helpful in dealing with my grief.

Apart from writing, what do you enjoy doing?

I like reading, shopping, watching TV and sports, and traveling—I can make anything into an adventure! Going for groceries? Let’s make it fun.

What’s next for Krysten Lindsay Hager?

I am finishing my book Aligning with the Star and also working on another teen novel that’s part of my Landry’s True Colors Series. In this one, Landry goes to New York City for a modelling job. I’m also working on a

new adult novel.

The perfect guy, the perfect location. What could go wrong?

Hadley Daniels’s life seems perfect…

Before the beginning of sophomore year of high school, Hadley and her family move to a beautiful beach town, where she makes amazing new friends and lands the boyfriend of her dreams—Nick Jenkins. He’s the kind of guy every girl swoons over, and it isn’t long until Hadley discovers some are still swooning.

A famous ex-girlfriend makes matters more complicated…

After some time dating, Hadley and Nick form a deep bond. But insecurity sets in when Hadley discovers her boyfriend once had a huge crush on her friend—who just happens to be the beautiful former teen TV star, Simone Hendrickson.

The past is the past—or so they say…

Hadley confronts Nick, who confesses about his history with Simone. Though he claims to only have eyes for Hadley now, it’s hard to believe—especially when she’s blindsided with the news that Nick and Simone kissed after school.

5* Review : Carissa Ann Lynch – have you seen This Girl? – The Flocksdale Files #1

Adult Theme

Mystery Thriller Blurb

Wendi Wise is a troubled young woman who snorts her breakfast through a straw and spends more time in rehab than in the real world…

Her life is seemingly out of control.

But now she has a plan.

That plan involves a sharp set of butcher knives.

She’s going back to where all of her troubles began…

Flocksdale.

Wendi was lured away from a local skating rink, at the age of thirteen, and held captive in a place she calls ‘The House of Horrors.’ Dumped off blindfolded on the side of a dirt road, Wendi soon discovered that she was addicted to the drugs they fed her while she was captive.

Too scared to go home, and having a new habit to deal with, she hopped on a bus, vanishing from the family she loved.

Vanishing from Flocksdale…

The town of Flocksdale is littered with fliers with a grainy image of young Wendi, and the words ‘Have You Seen This Girl?’ written below.

Now, eight years later, she’s on a mission—a mission to find the mysterious house from her youth and the monsters who dwell inside it.

Mystery Thriller My Review

Have You Seen This Girl (Flocksdale Files Book 1)This is a gripping, often shocking, suspenseful, mystery thriller, exploring the adult themes of abduction, child abuse and murder. Written from the first person point of view of a teenage girl and then a young woman, Wendi Wise’s story doesn’t graphically describe the abuse she suffers. Yet it manages to convey its horror vividly, through Wendi’s feelings at the time and subsequent addiction, as a result of the abuse she has suffered.
This story is dark but as it progresses it lightens, as Wendi’s emotional strength allows her to rebuild her shattered life. Some of the characters restore your faith in human nature but most are truly demonic. This is an edge of your seat read, who can she trust? Will getting revenge destroy her fragile mind? The ending is realistic and provides hope in a dark world. The quality of the writing, and the complex characters, definitely makes this book worth reading.

It’s in His Kiss – Eve Devon – Guest Post – 5* Review

Blog Tour

Today is release day for ‘It’s in His Kiss’, written by the lovely Eve Devon. As the first stop on her blog tour Eve is sharing with us her ‘Fun Facts About Kissing’ and an excerpt of ‘It’s in His Kiss’.  I have read this last book in the King trilogy and its  full of fun, romance and sensuality, a fabulous end to the series. My review is also included in this blog.

Fun Facts About  Kissing – Eve Devon

With a title like It’s In His Kiss, you just knew I was going to trawl the internet (I was on a tea-break, honest) for some fun-facts and quotes about…Kissing.
TOP THREE FUN FACTS:
In at number 3:
Did you know that the Romans used different words to describe different types of kissing? ocsulum, meant a friendly kiss on the cheek, basium, a kiss on the lips, and suavium, a deep kiss.
Holding steady at number 2:
We’ve grown up with classic movie kisses like: Titanic, Casablanca, Gone With The Wind, and Spiderman? But did you know they might never have happened if the Hays Code in the 1930’s (which prohibited acting couples from kissing lying down, meant married couples had to be shown sleeping in twin beds, and also stated that if the scene involved kissing, it couldn’t last longer than three seconds and one actor had to have their foot on the ground), hadn’t been lifted in the 1960’s. Of course, film directors found creative ways around this! In 1946, while filming Notorious, Alfred Hitchcock had Ingrid Bergman and Cary Grant repeatedly disrupt their kiss with dialogue and movement. It’s now considered one of the sexiest movie scenes of the time!
And at number 1: my personal #swoon favourite fun fact:
Nachküssen is a German word that means “a kiss to make up for those that have not occurred”.
AND HERE’S MY TOP THREE QUOTES ABOUT KISSING:
Being kissed by someone who knows what they’re doing…well, surely that’s a basic human right, right? And so in at number 3, I have:

“You should be kissed and often, and by someone who knows how”Rhett Butler, Gone With The Wind

At number 2 I have a quote that I can’t establish who said first, but that I think is charming and beautiful, and totally sums up the anticipation between my characters Sephy and Luke in It’s In His Kiss:

“The best kiss is the one that has been exchanged a thousand times between the eyes before it reaches the lips”Anonymous

I have two vying for the number 1 spot because, naturally, with a title like It’s In His Kiss, there’s:

“If you want to know how he really feels, it’s in his kiss”The Shoop Shoop Song

So sorry if I’ve just given you an ear-worm! But I also absolutely love this quote because when Luke kisses Sephy for the first time, it’s way more than a quick autograph…it turns out to feel more like he’s penning an open letter to her heart!

“A man’s signature is his kiss”Mae West

It's in his Kiss final

BLURB

Who do you turn to when things go wrong?
Your best friend. Obviously.
Sephy King’s worked flat-out to make her new lingerie business a success, only there’s a tiny snag – the marketing photos for the launch party are a disaster.
Luke Jackson will help her, won’t he? They just need to strip off, model gorgeous, sexy underwear together and take more photos! So what if the stunning body he’s been hiding makes Sephy’s eyes pop out? And when he holds her, she suddenly wishes they were in her bedroom…alone? He’s her best friend.
Then Luke asks Sephy for a return favour: to pose as his fake fiancée to get his parents temporarily off his back. It’s a risky strategy – but she’s sure she can pull it off.
Until he kisses her…

Nothing compared. Not that first taste of hot white chocolate sauce poured over blueberries that she awarded herself after hours and hours of sewing. As Luke’s lips moved over hers, creating delicious friction, his hands tightened against her, dragging her up against the length of him and, holy mackerel. Kissing quiet, considerate, confident, supposedly shy, but undeniably uber hot, Luke Jackson-of-the-sexy-dimples was not supposed to be like this.
She wasn’t supposed to get so lost in him she couldn’t feel the ground beneath her feet.’

Winter My Review

The final instalment of the King trilogy features the youngest of the King siblings, Sephy. It’s a lovely story about best friends who start to feel something more for each other. Are they are brave enough to take the next step? Or do they hold back, in case it irreparably damages the precious friendship they already have?
Sephy has something to prove and carries so much emotional baggage it threatens anything she may feel for Luke. Luke has his own ghosts but he is selfless in his support of Sephy. Oh and did I mention he knows how to make a woman feel special and is good with children? Luke is definitely a keeper. Daisy’s scenes are cute and realistic, guaranteed to make you smile.
Sephy and Luke’s relationship changes and falters, as the passion between them builds. There are comic moments and so much heat; desire, disaster or a little of both? This story keeps you turning the pages, to see what happens.
Romance and sensual tension defines this story; add in a glamorous setting and you have the perfect escape for a few hours. It’s lovely summer reading.

 Eve Devon_author photo

My name’s Eve Devon and I write sexy heroes, sassy heroines and happy ever afters…

I kind of secretly believe it’s not too late for me to train as a professional dancer, MMA expert, or win an Oscar. I know! This is why writing fiction is for me!

Growing up in locations like Botswana and Venezuela gave me a taste for adventure and my love for romances began when my mother shoved one into my hands in a desperate attempt to keep me quiet during TV coverage of the Wimbledon tennis finals.

When I wasn’t consuming books by the bucket-load, I could be found pretending to be a damsel in distress or running around solving mysteries and writing down my adventures. As a teenager, I wrote countless episodes of TV detective dramas so the hero and heroine would end up together every week. As an adult, I worked in a library to conveniently continue consuming books by the bucket-load, until realising I was destined to write contemporary romance and romantic suspense myself. I live in leafy Surrey in the UK, a book-devouring, slightly melodramatic, romance-writing sassy heroine with my very own sexy hero husband!

Blurb -2

Purple wig, red lips, and a flirty smile—those are the only things Austin Blakely remembers when he wakes up tied to his bed…

It’s Austin’s job as the enforcer for the New York Rangers hockey team to strike fear in the hearts of grown men. But if Manhattan’s notorious gossip magazine, The Whisperer, catches wind of his dating fail—or worse, took a picture of him in his compromised state—his reputation and career could be ruined.

Magnolia Cross is still running from rumors that robbed her of the interview of a lifetime…

Intern reporter for the Madison Square Garden news affiliate isn’t Magnolia’s idea of a dream job. She doesn’t even like hockey. But it’s experience on-air, and that’s what counts. After a prank-gone-wrong leaves her stripped of her Valedictorian title, she loses her initial chance at making it big. But now she’s stronger and smarter, and won’t let trust issues screw her out of her chance for success—again.

One bad interview and two million YouTube hits later, Magnolia is a media sensation—for all the wrong reasons…

Stupid Austin Blakely with his cocky smile and hockey lingo gibberish. After he embarrasses her on national television in the name of harmless flirting, Magnolia vows never to interview him again. Except avoiding Austin is easier said than done.

It isn’t long before Magnolia discovers the real source of Austin’s fears. It’s all about the seductress in the purple wig—unless it’s about the pictures she stole that could change all their lives forever…

My Review

‘The Girl with Diamonds’ is a lovely young, fresh romance with a sport setting.
Ambitious, intern reporter Magnolia and popular Ice Hockey player Austin get off to a rocky start but Magnolia leaves a lasting impression and Austin is compelled to gain her forgiveness so he can get to know her better. Austin and Magnolia both have secrets that could ruin their careers and their potential relationship; only by trusting each other can they succeed.
There are a few surprises, lots of humour and plenty of romance in this fast paced story, which is the second in the series but reads well as a standalone. Magnolia and Austin’s characters are well developed. The Midtown players, Magnolia’s press colleagues and family enhance the story’s vivacity and realism.

Winter My Review

The Summer Flings Travel Book

Originally published as serial parts, this is the full collection of Ciara, Elle and Gem’s summer adventures.
LA is the first delicious slice of fun and flirty mayhem for Ciara, Elle and Gem. The Oxford graduates leave their studies behind and set off on a backpacking tour of the world. LA is the first stop. Believe me if I could experience backpacking in the style these three do I would be first in line.
The setting is glitzy and glamorous, seen from Ciara’s point of view. Elle and Gem are trust fund babes but Ciara is different and looking at celebrity lifestyle through her eyes grounds this story in a pleasing way.
The three friends are likeable characters. Elle and Gem appear shallow but I suspect their individual stories will make the women beneath the public face, complex and interesting. Ciara is intelligent and attractive but a little scared of living. Elle and Gem care about her and want her to have fun and that’s what a trip of a lifetime should be right?
It couldn’t be a summer fling without a hot man and Zack certainly fulfils the role. Serious and sexy Ciara finds him hard to resist but is this just a fling or something more, guess we’ll have to see what happens in Miami.
LA is full of humorous, realistic, dialogue. I was ready to jump in their luggage after enjoying the pool and the party, eager to see what happens at the next destination of their adventure.
In Miami Ciara, Elle and Gem determined to enjoy the full beach and bar experience. Ciara has left a little of her heart back in LA but her friends won’t let her brood. Her ability to drink with the best of them wins her the undying gratitude of her friends and the chance of some extra holiday spending money.
Our Oxford graduates eager for new learning experiences enlist the help of three beach hotties to further their education. Zack in all his furious glory gatecrashes the girls’ impromptu pool party with their new friends. Zack addictive attraction for Ciara continues… The ice cream scene is definitely a must read.
There’s shopping, steamy sex and sun in this episode of ‘Summer Flings’ and an enticing taste of mystery…
Paris, the city of art, fashion and romance, is not what it first appears. Ciara is miserable without Zack and watching loving couples is the last thing she wants. Elle won’t let her brood and soon they are at an exclusive club, whilst the champagne flows, the mood darkens and soon the girls are in a living nightmare. This is definitely the cautionary part of the tale and an unexpected, if stormy encounter for Ciara leaves her wanting more.
In Santorini, the geeks go Greek and Ciara can’t wait to explore but Elle and Gem want to relax and enjoy the spa experience. Luckily for Ciara there is a surprise visitor. Full of humour and sizzling sensuality, the magic of the Greek Islands is much in evidence here.
Ibiza, the party island and the girls are determined to experience it all, more fun in the sun and maybe something more for Ciara.
Florence, the climax to their trip but there is more angst than fun here. Ciara’s emotional baggage makes her shy away from what she has with Zack with disastrous results for all of them.
Back home in Dublin, reality sets in and Ciara wonders what to do with the rest of her life. I love the email format of this section of the book, keeping it fast paced, yet showing what was happening in each of their lives. Gone are the fun and glamour of the previous chapters. Ciara finally confronts the reason behind her emotional detachment and there is a lovely romantic ending that shows that love is worth fighting for.
A book of contrasts, which work really well together, it’s easy reading with lots of humour, sizzle and emotion, the perfect summer book.
