5* Review: Prohibited Passion – Romy Sommer – A Jazz Age Romance

Winter Blurb

In the age of jazz and champagne cocktails, respectable English widow Jenny embarks on a new life in America. Whatever adventures lie ahead, she’s certain of one thing: one loss was enough for a lifetime. She will never love again.

So when, halfway across the ocean, she is stuck in an elevator with Tom Gallagher, a roguishly handsome and very unavailable Prohibition gangster, she has nothing to fear where her heart is concerned. Or does she?

Winter My Review

Prohibited PassionSet on a transatlantic liner, ‘Prohibited Passion’ draws you into the roaring twenties and is undeniably glamorous. Jenny symbolises the new women of the decade. Despite a broken heart she is courageous enough to start again in another country but not brave enough to risk her heart. Tom is the perfect anti-hero.
Their serendipitous elevator encounter is characterised with sexual tension and humour and its abrupt end is a page turner. You want to know what happens next to Jenny and Tom.
This is an atmospheric romantic tale of two emotionally damaged people who you instantly empathise with and hope they get their happy ending.
I received a copy of this book from the author in return for an honest review.
