I was asked to take part in this blog hop again by Harlequin Intrigue author Janie Crouch whose blog ‘The Adventures of Calamity Jane’ is always a good read.
Janie writes romantic intrigue novels for Harlequin Intrigue and her debut novel Primal Instinct is out April 2014: Here’ what her first book’s about:
A killer stalks the city streets, and one FBI agent is determined to bring him down in Janie Crouch’s Primal Instinct.
On the crowded streets of San Francisco, a serial killer watches and waits. Known only as “Simon Says,” he lures his next victim while the FBI grasps for answers. Desperate, they turn to Adrienne Jeffries. Adrienne has an uncanny talent for getting inside the city’s most dangerous minds. But first she’ll have to get past FBI agent Conner Perigo.
Skeptical of Adrienne’s abilities, Conner begrudgingly enlists her help…unprepared for the powerful attraction that could jeopardize their focus. With little time, and everything to lose, they must work to find Simon’s next victim—before he does.

As I have already posted my answers to these questions on my current work in progress ‘The Revenge Masquerade’ I decided to talk about the other novel I am half way through writing ‘The Dangerous Gift’.
What Am I Working On At The Moment?
As soon as I have finished The Revenge Masquerade I’m revisiting The Dangerous Gift which is the novel I started last year. It is set in Texas. Here’s the blurb:
‘Jennie Taylor receives an unexpected gift; a Texan ranch!
After the sudden death of his father Jared Stewart is forced to come to terms with sharing control of his family ranch. Reunited with her first love Jennie’s heart still belongs to Jared. She is determined to prove her commitment to him and the ranch by discovering who is behind the series of dangerous accidents that threaten the ranch’s viability.
Finally acknowledging his love for Jennie can Jared’s protectiveness keep her safe? Or will her recklessness lead her into irrevocable peril ending their chance of love forever?’
How Does My Work Differ From Others Of The Genre?
I entered the first chapter of The Dangerous Gift in last year’s ‘ So You Think You Can Write’ competition. When it didn’t final no real surprise there I decided the story I wanted to write wouldn’t fit the Harlequin Intrigue guidelines. So now I’ve raised the heat level because it is definitely a romance. Along side this I deepened the thriller aspect of the story. So I have a romantic thriller. I hope 😉
Why Do I Write What I Do?
I like variety. My aim is to write stories in all the genres I like until I find the one I enjoy writing most.
Current work in progresses are:
The Revenge Masquerade – Paranormal / Fantasy Romance
The Dangerous Gift – Romantic Thriller
Past Shadows – Historical Gothic
How Does Your Writing Process Work?
I aim to write everyday.
Since my last post I am aiming for a set number of words each day before I do anything else like social media or book reviews This seems to be working well at the moment. 🙂
Sadly I didn’t get any takers for next week’s Writing Process Blog Hop 😦
