5* Review Stolen Moments Tara Mills

Stolen Moments

Stolen Moments is an excellent, erotic romantic teaser which is a must read for the romantics out there.

From the first line the writer creates a believable setting and circumstances. I loved Ella who is so torn between passion and her responsibilities. Neil is dominant, decisive and driven by his need to possess Ella. What follows is best described as ‘afternoon delight’

There is a lovely twist which completes the story perfectly.

If your day is in need of romance this is definitely the story for you.

I was gifted this book by the author. This review is entirely my own thoughts.

5* Review Twice Tempted by Susan Arden

Twice Tempted (Bad Boys Don't Drink The Water)I really enjoyed ‘Tempted by Trouble’ by Susan Arden and even though ‘Twice Tempted‘ is the second in the ‘Bad Boys Don’t Drink The Water’ series, chronologically it occurs first.
This is a secret baby story with lots of originality. Cynthia (Sam’s) baby is secret from the father after an erotic one night but also from Cynthia’s father whose domineering ways she is determined to escape.
The story is told in two halves. Cynthia and Rob first meet when she becomes the newest Vice President of her father’s international travel company. Despite her mature business head Cynthia is an emotional novice and is totally blown away by Rob’s sophistication and bad boy persona. A series of life events and misunderstandings ensure Cynthia and Rob’s encounter is a one-off.
Part two of the story takes place four years later when Rob and Cynthia meet unexpectedly and Rob’s discovers Cynthia or Sam’s as he calls her devastating secret.
This is a story full of emotion, interesting and easy to read. The conflict increases with each page turned and leaves you drained. Well written erotic romantic scenes and a happy ever after which hangs in the balance until the end, make this a worthwhile read.
I would recommend this to lovers of well written emotional, erotic romance.

5* Review How to Win a Guy in 10 Dates Jane Linfoot

How to Win a Guy in 10 Dates

This is a charming story full of humour and emotion. The strong characters and beautiful settings make ‘How to Win a Guy in 10 Dates’ original and memorable.

Ed is an explosives expert and Millie is a companion/pet-sitter/dance artist/entrepreneur. The plot is woven with twists which hold the reader’s interest.

Ed a serial womaniser is bet by his sister and best friend that he cannot take a woman out on 10 ordinary dates. On the surface this is a callous playboy bet with scant regard for the woman in the equation. In reality Ed’s sister Cassie and his friend Will both want Ed to find the true happiness they feel he deserves and needs.

Millie is vulnerable with a wonderful sense of humour and irony which endear her to the reader. She wants to live life her way. The true reasons for her decision are deep and painful. Sympathetically revealed as the story progresses.

Ed appears arrogant and cast in the mould of a regency rake on first acquaintance. As the story develops the reasons for his behaviour and attitude become apparent and reveal him to be a tortured romantic hero. His undeniable attraction to the heroine and the real feelings he develops for her make him appealing.

The story’s conflict and emotion is countered with glamorous settings and humour which make it a great read. There is a clever build up of sexual tension between the two main characters culminating in a sensual love scene.

I found it easy to imagine the characters and settings and soon became absorbed in the story. Definitely a page turner. I recommend ‘How to Win a Guy in 10 Dates’. The ideal holiday read or as autumn approaches, a rainy afternoon curled up by the fire read.

5* Review What’s a Girl to Do? Aimée Duffy

What's a Girl to Do? (Indecent Proposals #1)

After reading and loving ‘Sinfully Summer’ I couldn’t wait to see what Ms Duffy could do with an erotic romance and I wasn’t disappointed.

What’s a Girl to Do? is a scalding hot read. What makes it memorable is the romance.

Unwanted by her supermodel mother Shey’s attitude to men, sex and relationships is tainted. The need to control every variable means Shey’s romantic encounters lack spontaneity.

Player Calvin hides a fragile heart. Devastated by his ex-wife. He vows he will never lose his heart, reputation or wealth to a woman again.

The scene is set the control freak meets the ice man.

Their first encounter will make you shiver and remember. The humour and sexual tension are beautifully written.

Despite her tangible fear Shey loses control in the most intimate way possible. Shey agrees to a relationship but only with rules. Calvin forgoes his dating embargo. He can’t risk losing her. He wants her subservient but soon finds the tables turned on him. Love the taxi ride.

Their romance is driven by emotion not lust shown by the sacrifices they both make.

As a novella this story is a teaser but reaches a satisfying conclusion. Perfect for a little late night reading or on the way to work. Just remember sighing on public transport may draw some funny looks. 🙂

4* Review E for England- Elizabeth Rose

E For England

E for England is a sweet contemporary romance with memorable characters.

Annie and Hugh create an instant bond with the reader which intensifies as the story progresses. If like me you enjoy character driven romance this is for you. The secondary characters particularly the children enhance the story and provide reality based humour that every parent will recognise and enjoy.

The plot is reality based and doesn’t provide the escapism I usually seek in a romantic novel but the depth and authenticity of the characters made it a worthwhile read. The issues explored in the book are contemporary and sensitively handled by the author and it is impossible not to feel empathy for the mismatched pair as the story progresses.

I would recommend this easy read to all fans of sweet contemporary romance.

Here’s the blurb from ‘The Dragon Legacy’

Emotionally fragile Fleur craves excitement. Will a murder mystery weekend satisfy her desire?

A serendipitous meeting with a mystery man leads naive Fleur into a  dangerous, mystical world hidden amid the dark wild hills of the English Lake District. Passion hotter than a dragon’s breath ignites. Dragons, demons wolves and witches clash in apocalyptic battles.

Abducted Fleur becomes an unwitting pawn in the demon’s revenge against the dragon lord. In a horrific battle for survival Fleur must overcome her inner fears and outwit the demon to have the life she wants with Lukas…

Dragon and demon slayer Lukas Draco must find the last dragon egg buried a millennium ago in the shadow of Helvellyn. The survival of humanity depends on his mission’s success.’

Fiery passion erupts from dark despair and throws the mismatched pair into intimate contact. The integrity of his mission threatened Lukas must choose. The dragon egg or his soul mate…’

Really looking forward to my cover. 🙂 Whilst we wait for the great reveal. Visit my Pinterest boards The Dragon Legacy and The Dragon Legacy-Fleur to see who I think my characters look like. The actor I pinned is exactly how I see Lukas. 🙂

As January seems so far away here’s a snippet from ‘The Dragon Legacy’

Filled with suppressed excitement she continued her secret study. His face the epitome of masculine beauty. Characterised by well-defined angular cheek bones, covered with pale almost translucent skin. Its apparent delicacy did not detract from his masculinity; he looked like a fallen angel. A telltale blush stained her cheeks rosy. A heat rush pooled between her legs, Fleur shuddered.

Tomorrow my fellow author Lillie J Roberts will be blogging. Don’t forget to  visit her 🙂

More on my edit experience in the next couple of weeks 🙂

5* Review of Do You Remember? Mandy Baggot

Do You Remember?

Do You Remember? is a poignant beautifully written romance which held my interest from the first page.

A story of first love reveals a labyrinth of despair and hope.I like the way past events are threaded into the story enhancing their impact. A definite page turner. The plot is absorbing and full of twists and surprises.

Emma is the girl next door whose life is disrupted by personal tragedy. She could be you or me except she hides a life changing secret.

Guy is more than the alpha hero who storms Emma’s quiet ordinary life. Twice. As the story progresses you realise he is driven and damaged by past events he cannot forget or escape.

The author writes about unpalatable subjects with great sensitivity and though integral to the plot they do not overpower the epic love story.

I recommend this book to all lovers of true romance.
